Let me rephrase, it was not as much a priority to him.
He has so many things going on that it was just one of his many projects. That's the way I see it just from reading his blog for years. I don't know him personally.
The only thing keeping me sane during that time was the "Finish the Book George" blog.

If it's 6 three-hour movies, sure
Trilogies are all the rage They could pull it off in 2 3 hour movies. The shows leave off a bunch. If they can do Return of the King in one movie, they can do Spring in 2.

That I can agree with. I'm just saying now that he has additional sources of pressure, mainly the show, he has reason to move his fat arse.

I will say this: He did say in an interview in 2012 that he had to have the next book out "in less than 5 years". So "less than 5 years is apparently his goal.

Kit Harington said this in an interview when asked what his favorite scene to shoot was:
Hopefully it's Ygritte dying

I think my favorite scene in Season 3....again it happens at the end of the season so I can't say what it is sorry! So far, the cave scene was a lot of fun and the climbing of the Wall was intense but an amazing experience. My favorite one is coming up so keep watching.
Hopefully it's Ygritte dying

Is there no middle ground thread this week?

I'm thinking its betraying Ygritte. I don't think Ygritte will die until Season 4.

So is Cersei/Loras still on?
The meeting with Tywin seemed to leave it hanging.

I assumed the breaking of the quill ended that.
I'm still completely puzzled by the complete lack of Willas. I know the need to consolidate, but not even mentioning him is bizarre.
They could mention him and just say well he will get to King's Landing eventually and just never produce him.

I thought the opposite, that the order he was signing was to send Loras to the Kingsguard so she broke the pen.

Could be it. I thought it was the agreement between them they were signing.
Why would he hand her the quill for a Kingsguard order?

Maybe he's going to serve as her fashion designer instead. Loras love Green Fringe and rose broaches.

She took it from him. He said should I draw up this order (putting Lora's in KG) or do you consent to match? She snapped his pen so she consents to marriage.

That is a pretty drastic departure from the book. Like really drastic. I guess that's why I interpreted it the other way.

Just re-watched the scene. You're right.
I wonder how they are going to maneuver Loras out of that?

Glad to see everyone is just as confused as me on Loras/Cersei

I think Cersi will manipulate Joffery into appointing Loras to the KG. I need to re-watch the episode, but didn't Tyrion say something to her about it being a shame Loras wasn't in the KG or am I completely making that up?
