I am liking feast but I had low expectations after talking to people before starting.
I had to read it 3 times before I recognized how good it was. It's now one of my favorites.

Wouldn't I have to go back and forth through the menu? It can be done, but a PITA it seems
I'm not sure. The Nook has a "most recent reads" drop down that makes it pretty easy to switch back and forth. I just assumed it was similar on the Kindle.

Please stay out of the non-reader thread. This is the first week it's actually been not constant discussion about that in either thread. Just leave them be.

I do. This is one of the best shows on TV, that episode is going to make it THE best. They need to do everything. From beginning to end. Telling Robb to leave behind Grey Wind, the great mood at the wedding all of a sudden changing, Catelyn's realizing something is wrong, Dacey Mormont being turned down, Catelyn killing the simple Frey and clawing her face, Robb's new head... ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING NEEDS TO BE DONE. And they have to end the episode with the Hound chasing down Arya and swinging the ax... screen goes black. Viewers need to throw remotes through their TV. Anything else would be a huge letdown.
Agree 100%. It needs to be brutal to get the full effect. Even if some anticipate them being betrayed, there's no way they can anticipate how horrible it is going to be.
In the words of Barry Manilow...

Calm down and worry about yourself. I made one fricking joke. I am not up in their thread at all.

agreed.
Been good this week.
I did like the scene with Sansa seeing Littlefinger's ship leaving. Placing the bird on the sail let us know it was indeed his ship.

No, you had multiple posts, even before your "joke" you posted a few times. Including an "in" on the first page.
More than any other reader you have been in their thread. It works better to just leave it be.
Some cool screen caps:

Anyone have any screencaps from the next episode? I'm interested in the Jaime screencap that has been mentioned.

And that's all it takes. Again, just leave it be.
Napoleon, nice find. It was badass when Ygritte put her pick in and it cracked a huge chunk off the wall.

Man, I am waaayyy too excited for that Bear Pit scene. Can't wait for the episode.
Jamie's arc may be my favorite of the whole series.

Regarding the RW, i remember reading that it was the scene in the books that made the creators want to film the series. So I would think that any event would be perfectly portrayed it would be this one.
Maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part but I have a feeling it's going to be awesome.

I agree, I think they will do everything they can to portray the RW as best as they can. It's the most important and recognizable event in the books.
So I haven't read the whole thread and this has probably been talked about but did Mel know who Arya was when they met?

I don't have any reason to doubt them at this point. They writers have done a pretty incredible job adapting the books to screen. Especially the big stuff like Blackwater, Ned's beheading, etc. They've set the bar pretty high.

Didn't seem like she knew exactly who Arya was (i.e. the Stark girl), but she could definitely see some things in her eyes.
If I see a Wolf's head sewn on to Robb Stark's body, it will be the penultimate moment for me in the show. I really hope they portray it as described.

They showed Theon getting flayed and the horses all chopped up by the Others, so it's not like they would avoid the gruesome-ness.
