Jenkins played the slot in the second half of the season. To the point, the Saints signed McKenzie and Mcallister off the street and they played outside against the Pats.
Wes Welker - 6 catches, 32 yards. Jenkins had him on lock. He can play the slot.

Kenny Vaccaro played a good bit in the nickel position at Texas, so I could see the Saints using him as a nickel corner fairly often. The thing that is awesome about Vaccaro is that he can make tackles consistently, unlike Roman Harper. He's aggressive like Harper, but can cover much better and make tackles like he's supposed to. I think Malcolm Jenkins would also perform well at nickel, we'll have to see how it all shapes up.

Kenny Vaccaro is here to stop the bleeding. The TE bleed, the running QB (read option) bleed. These thing have plagued the Saints for 3 years now. The time is now that it stops.

Am I the only one who thought of this whenever seeing the thread title? Probably so.

I like Vacarro a lot but for all those saying he's a great tackler, wasn't the knock on him in the draft profiles that he goes for the big hit rather than wrapping up?

possibly but the big hits are a huge improvement from swing and missing.

Right. Yeah I guess that's true. Of course the first time his swings and misses, this board is going to melt down about the wasted first round pick.

I don't remember him doing that well on the outside.
He is pretty good at closing speed, but that's really the only good thing he did as a FS or outside CB. He's had to use it a lot.

quote:Use him as the 3rd outside corner. When we inevitably get an injury he'll start.
So what do you do with Robinson when your 1&2 is now Greer and Lewis?
HB and CB always seems to be the most injured positions on our team, with LB close behind.

But why would Malcolm want to go to a terrible band such as Nickelback? Me nots understands!
In all seriousness, I would rather see him play nickel corner. He has talent to be a starter but I see nickel as a position he fits better now. I like Jenkins and I think he can be better than he is but just don't think he's 'starter' material atm.

Cool now go find the gif of Vernon Davis burning him deep two series in a row in man coverage. Ran a 4.5.

Idk if this is about Kenny or Jenkins but they are both 6' and will be giving up 4-6 inches to very eire TE they face. What is either gonna Fo against a guy like Gronk except hope to break his arm again.

to be fair VD does that to everyone.

And to be fair Vincent Jackson wasn't running at full speed.

yes he was

Sure he was because everyone is fastest in the last 10 yards of a 95 yard run in the third quarter. Watch the video he is running hard but he is completely upright looking around. That's not an all out sprint
