LSU has the least experience returning on defense in at least 13 years

Les Miles offense (until proven otherwise)

Cam is proving otherwise in Spring Training with hurry up and new attitude. Offense will be dominant this year.

Two returning CBs and Loston in the secondary = no problems

We lose Minter, but LBers are the least of my worries.

DT of Ego and Freak = no issues

DE is the only position I think we struggle a bit, but all in all, this defense will be good enough to keep us in games, and the offense will WIN games for us.

highsmith, zenon, steltz, dorsey, pittman, jackson, and BO PELINI

having chavis in the box still means we'll have a top 15 defense

LSU return's four starters to it's defense, same as '10. They also return a total of nine players with some level of starting experience. Total of 56 games started.

DL - Freak 3 starts
LB - Barrow 15 starts, Louis 5 starts, T Jones 2 starts and K Alexander 2 starts
DB - Loston 14 starts, Mills, 13 starts, J Collins 1 start and Martin 1 start

Playing experience

DL - Ego, Rasco, Allen, Hunter, Thomas and M Johnson
LB - Welter, D Jones and Feist
DB - Eugene and Thompson

That's 20 players with game experience right there. That's a good starting point.

With the new guys coming in I expect no less than another six/seven to see time playing defense in '13 not just STs. The biggest need among the new players is DL and Lacoture more than held his own in the spring.
