Where in the hell do you work, and why would they fire you for getting into a bar fight? Also, what was his first chance? Isnt this his first incident while he was on this football team?

I would probably get fired for getting into a bar fight. But I'm 30 and am expected to have better judgement than a 20 year old.

I would get fired if I assaulted or batttered someone. Particularly if my employer already knew I had a previous conviction in the nature that J.Hill had.

Geaux Ranger doesn't even understand what a simple battery charge is..............and secondly, he doesn't even understand the policies of his own employer.........
but we should take his opinion seriously on discipling a major college football program.

There's a difference between assault and battery......you should just hire a lawyer for this thread and be quiet.

I don't see why this would matter. To play devils advocate...he would of been part of this football team earlier if not for the first incident. Do you think the Cardinals disregarded Mathieu's past because he wasn't on the team when the crimes took place? I know this is comparing apples to squash, but you can't just judge someone's character by the time you have spent with them.

It's a freakin misdemeanor. Most companies would "frown" upon it but they wouldnt let someone go for getting into a fight, especially one in which this allegedly happened.

Does your employer make you fill out questionnaires quarterly for crimes?

There are plenty of companies out there that would fire someone for this. I'm sure they'd all let the legal process play out beforehand though.

Spending time with someone is a better way to judge someone's character than the way some posters on here are trying to do.

Annually, I think. I don't remember the last one I did.

1. I do know what simple battery is.
2. I do know my companies policies, as I have written several of them.
3. You don't have to take my opinion seriously, because this is a message board, not a court of law.
4. I simply disagree with you. Dont get personal and butthurt, because some of us on here feel that a legal adult should be held to the same standard as the rest of us, and that setting a standard for behavior is a good idea.

It matters because this is the first incident he has gotten into while he was a member of the LSU football team. Period. We are not going to get into the details of the other incident as everyone knows that was blown completely out of proportion as well. If Hill was the type that went around looking for trouble, then I can understand coming down hard as it's a matter of time before he stumbles again, but do you really believe that. He got called a Ni**a multiple times to his face and put someone in there place in one incident, and got sexual favors that were consensual from someone a few years younger than him and then parents flipped out. It's not as if he's a felony waiting to happen.

Let me rephrase it to address the point i was getting at

I screwed that up and agree with your statement

Not everyone is held to the standard you claim to be held to.
I'd much rather my kid be judged on a case by case basis and not some zero tolerance policy.

Your right he just one of those unlucky characters that just so happens to always be in the wrong place at the wrong time. I believe this same argument could and was made about a few others over the past few years and eventually it came back to bite us (RP, TM, JJ)
Posted on 4/29/13 at 12:05 pm to StinkBait72
You fricks are ready to kick the kid off the team and you dont even know the exact details of what happened.

Stated my opinion. Knew it would be unpopular. But hey,
Stay classy fellas, Im out.
