I'm sure we'll give the cat another chance just as we did with Ryan P, Jordan J, and Matheiu.... Only for another arrest to occur and leave the rest of the nation thinking "WTF is up with the lack of discipline on LSU's football team."
Oh no, that really crippled our program.

I'm sure it will be indefinite suspension and will probably miss TCU game at minimum.
The legal issues are different as well and Les's hands will be tied. Les will act accordingly and if it warrants more like Mathieu so be it.

If some drunk dude baited JH into a fight, I hope the judge doesn't throw the book at this kid because the terms of his probation are "no criminal conduct."

The issue with things like this is it creates rifts among the team. If anyone thinks Jordan coming back to the team and playing had no impact on other's attitudes they are being naive. To think the entire rest of time team was fully on board and welcoming of his return seems very unlikely. Why should someone who has multiple off field issues see the field over someone he has waited their turn and has done everything they have been asked.
Examble: Hill vs. Blue or Hillard or Magee.

I don't think his teammates care if he was actually called the N-word twice. Most young black males, especially at 2 AM, would react in a similar fashion.

No doubt that he is not reinstated until the legal issue is resolved. If it is resolved before the season, I think it will be a two game suspension, four at most.

So you assume the opposite based on? Do you think Hill is a bad teammate or ever had any problems with other members of the team.

Because this isn't little league and not all off the field issues are equivalent.

So if it happens again in a couple of months we'll continue the look the other way rather than address the actual issue? I understand the kid got upset and behaved and "Most young black males, especially at 2 AM, would react in a similar fashion." But when offered a scholarship to play for one of the premier teams in College football he needs to leave that behind him. He was given a second chance unlike "most young black males" and did not hold up his end of the deal. The players are now becoming bigger than the program, and some bigger than there team mates....

Am I missing something plead in Jan 2011? 2 years probation=Jan 2013?
How is this even an issue? His probation is over.

That sentence pertained to the JJ fiasco. We don't know how or if this issue will even effect the team.

This I agree with, but it is COLLEGE Football. Unfortunately it has become the NFL minor leagues and college is only an after thought.

If you think the team didnt see JJ punishment as excessive for a bar room fight, you are naive.
And if you think the team wasn't fricking happy to have JJ pull their nuts out of the fire in the first Alabama game after watching Lee shitting on himself again, you are even more naive or plain dumb.

What are you talking about? This is his first incident at LSU, is it not?

My opinion is not going to very popular around here, but I think Les should kick him off the team. Set a precedent with his players, that the choices they make have immediate consequences. Do I think what J.Hill did is THAT terrible and out of the ordinary for college kids? Not at all. However, I think the only way to finally get through to these guys, is to make an immediate example out of J.Hill and quit with the 3-10 chances.
I would rather move on with what we have. Even if its not the popular choice.

But your choice lacks clear rationale thought and its effect on the life of the "student athlete."
If people aren't given second chances how can they learn anything worth a crap in life?
Punishment is needed...........but to end a career over a bar fight is asinine and lacks intuition.

He already set precedent with tm 7
He got more than 2 chances

Sounds like they were just as excited about that Championship game according to all the recent quotes. I'm sure they loved watching our offence shite the bed against Arkansas, Georgia, and Bama at the back end of the season too while the other guys sat on the side line staring into space.

I'm with you on this, even though most around here would disagree.

I guess that's why they had JJ painted on their arms the firts game of the year.

This has nothing to do with the topic at hand, but Arkansas was our best offensive performance of 2011.
Anyway most of the times the teammates don't want to see their friends kicked off the team because he hit a guy that called him a racial slur. I'd be willing to bet that kicking Hill off the team for this incident will upset more players than the actual incident itself.

His career wont be over. Just his right to play at LSU. He had 1 chance already, whether me and you agree with the charge or the nature of it is irrelevant. Now he has gone out and commited another crime. If the facts are that he punched another human being in the face or head, then he should be gone. Plain and simple. If I get arrested for this same crime, I lose my job immediately. If I go out and get a DUI then I lose my job immediately. These are real life choices and consequences. I love this LSU football team, and I love watching J.Hill play, but I am tired of giving 3-10 chances to these young men, simply because they play football.
