Never chambered. Just bought them and was loading them in to replace the FMJ's that I had in it.
I don't have any reloading equipment. Should I contact Hornady with the lot number, not for my benifits but for others who may not carch it, or not waste my time?

I'd definitely never shoot that ............. especially if it's .40 caliber.
