Eighty-seven percent of the nation’s top economists think that the digital currency, Bitcoin, has “limited usefulness.” Given the growing popularity of the enigmatic currency, the University of Chicago conducted its famous Initiative on Global Markets (IGM) poll of 38 of the world’s top economists, to see how experts felt about its longterm future. By far the best response came from the former Chairman of the President’s Council of Economic Advisers, Austan Goolsbee (a.k.a. LSURussian), who simply wrote, “Hahahaha. ROTFL.”

people are investing their own money in Bitcoin. Question is, do you want to bet against 87 percent of top economists?

Economists don't even correctly use internet acronyms.
It's "ROFL" not "ROTFL"

Your link proves my point, jackass.
From the first Google hit.

An incorrect spelling of rofl. Generally employed by individuals who are not well acquainted with chatspeak, but are trying their best to fit in.

From the same Google hit that you linked...

An older form of ROFL that people now assume to be a new, clueless form. ROTF is documented from 1990{1}; ROTFL from 1991{2}.

You guys are so easy.
It's god damn Urban Dictionary. Footnotes?
Jesus Christ.

You are the one who introduced Urban Dictionary as an authority. Now you want to ridicule your own authority when I used it to provide an alternative definition with references to validate my alternative.

Once again you show your willingness to avoid even simple research when making your idiotic statements. Your laziness makes impeaching your assertions pretty easy.

This actually makes me kind of want to buy bitcoins

ROTFL !!!!
ETA: Aren't you the same person who once started a thread saying the "Fed bought 108%" of the Treasury debt at a recent debt auction? And when I asked you how is it possible to buy more than 100% of anything, you ran away and hid?

Well, in fairness, economist tend to be amoral and at least try to be apolitical. "Limited Usefulness" could mean, "It is a functional safe haven for tax dodgers and criminals".

In the link you use... 5 definitions support my claim... While only 2 support yours?
But I guess someone who uses bitcoins may truly believe that 5 < 2

I haven't read enough of josh's posts to have any opinion about him, but I really hope people understand the Fed does not take part in the Treasury auctions.
I'm probably expecting too much.

You fellow bitcoinista initiated the acronym debate.
