Doesn't really matter. The owners of the playoffs are also Bama's biggest proponent/lobbyist- ESPN. Bama will have to lose twice not to make it. Their qualifications are asterisked. Win the division/sec, and run the risk of losing/injury in a superfluous SEC champ game, while a non-divisional wildcard team makes it. Ex- 2011 bama, 2012 Fla. Its "BCS light".

Of course that is the reason for doing this...to break the SEC stranglehold on the championship. Don't look for there to be more than one SEC team in the 4 team playoff on very many years.

I can't wait until LSU gets arbitrarily excluded from the playoff in favor of some national darling by a selection committee with unchecked power and nebulous motives.

Debacle in waiting.

Glad FBS is finally moving in the right direction to crown a true national champion. 4 teams simply isn't enough, but it's a baby step in the direction of ultimately 8 and then 16 teams which will be the greatest playoff in any sport. 9 automatic bids from each conference and 7 at-large bids. SIGN ME UP, awesome football.

It will happen. We'll just have to deal with it.

Finally someone said it! To you youngsters who have only seen the glory days for LSU (since BCS) you better pay attention. Following LSU since '57, there were many occassions when we were slighted by the media darlings in bowl games and rankings. Then came the BCS/Sabinezer and the world changed. You ask why?...Well for starters likely 50% or more of the bias was removed and required "real data" be utilzied, thus the bias was partially removed and we joined the "in-crowd". Now that will be banished and a unique "selection committee" will be utilized...here it comes again boys.

First about the scheduale those services were simply rediculous ! ND's scheduale was not nearly as difficult as Bama's . Bama beat lsu at lsu and Georgia . ND's did not beat one team as good as LSU or Georgia or A&m.
Please don't tell me Stanford would have beaten LSU. On a nutral field LSU would stomp them just like we did the ducks !

These schedule rankings are nuts and that's what concerns me the most about the new system. No computers no strength of opponents by an objective standard!

The SEC is much better then the rest of college football . They can't beat us on the field . I feel we will be cheated .

Remember the year auburn went undefeated ?

If the SEC (hopefully LSU) wins the national championship again this year, and is suddenly left out the following year

It will prove bias on the part of the committee.

Love the playoff idea. LSU and Alabama will pretty much be in it every year with the occasional 3rd SEC team here and there.

What sucks if we lose to them we don't get to help our ranking by playing a SEC championship game.

this four isn't enough. We need at least 6 for us to have a chance every year.

Chicken shite Ohio State will go undefeated every year with that schedule. That's already one and Oregon also with the Pac 12 being weak. ON and ON
