Chipmunk Control

I can't get rid of these damn things! I have tried the Haveaheart traps, SnakeAway, gopher/mice poison pellets, giant destroyer gas bombs, and my pellet gun. The only thing I know that kills them 100% is my pellet gun, but I can't sit in one or two spots all day long. I've killed 50 of them in a year. At first I thought I was making progress, but it's starting to make me nervous.
We do have a wooded area about 100ft from our house, and they stay up there for the most part. However, several of them keep coming down and end up making their new home in the vacant holes of the other chipmunks I've killed.
I'm tired of them and just want to protect my foundation and retaining walls. Please help!

what foundation damage will they cause? Retaining walls?

Ground can cave in and retaining walls will start leaning and eventually fall over.

Cats love to eat chipmunks from head to tail.

This reminds me of a situation we had up here several years ago. Chipmunks and boomers were literally starving out the deer and turkey here by eating up the mast crop. So...VDGF stocked rattlesnakes on Clinch Mountain. They flew over the mountain in a helicopter and lowered wooden crates filled with rattlesnakes to the ground and released the rattlesnakes. The reasoning was that the rattlers would thin out the chipmunks and boomers so that the deer and turkey would have more to eat. It must have worked, because we have a lot of deer and turkey and...rattlesnakes here now. I'd hate to hafta choose between stocking rattlesnakes or having cats to control chipmunks. It'd be like havin to decide which is worse: Walkin barefooted across a ten foot long bed of hot wood coals or swimmin acrost a swimmin pool filled with green snot.

Get a cat. They disappear after that. If your neighbors have cats in the area, place a couple of cans of fat food out in your yard. Cats come to visit and issues are solved.

Pass some laws banning the existence of chipmunks.
