I am looking at a few different ones. The one with the ping pong ball in it, duck bill, just the regular flush mount, etc...

What say you OB.

I've got the pingpong ball type on my transom. They work well when they don't have a bunch of crud packing them off.

i too have had issues with these. neither work great.

It really doesn't matter until you need them. On the Twin Vee I had 2 on each side with 3 bilge pumps on each side. 1 assisted the scuppers, 1 drained rear hold, the other was for backup. I like the flapper types, gets much more flow thru them and don't get fouled up with trash as easy as the ball type. Sunflower seeds will mess them up in heartbeat.

a "scupper" is not intended to be in the hull.
