Makes perfect sense for Arsenal. Need to loan poldi out to make room for all the new signings and up and coming youngsters.....

bitterness aside this must mean we have fairly hopes for Ryo and Gnabry. Also, knock on every type of wood imaginable, we're confident on bringing Di Maria or someone else in

But why pay part of his wages?

Depends on what "part" is. He makes 100k a week, so if we pay 30 and schalke pay 70 that's 70k we just freed up to use as salary for someone else. It still doesn't make perfect sense, but it's at least defensible if this is the case. Of course it's also possible wenger has gone completely senile or Bild made up the entire thing

if we get Di Maria, Poldi should be sold/loaned, probably. it'd be nice to keep him for depth but he just doesn't fit our system. he's a second striker in a 442. he's not a great LW in our system and he certainly isn't a CF due to his lack of movement. I wouldn't mind keeping him for squad depth, but wouldn't be hurt if he left.

Guardian reported that Willian completed his medical for Tottenham, but has not completed a move to Spurs. On one hand, I am a big Willian fan and would love to get him, but on the other, he would just crowd our AM/W position even more.

This is gonna be fun to see what plays out in this situation.

@chelseafc: Mourinho expresses the view that Willian will choose to join Chelsea, and that the transfer is a possibility. #CFC

Why is this one so retarded?

I mean anything is possible but you don't see why it's "retarded" that Chelsea would consider selling arguably their best player to one of their two main rivals for the title which would fill a huge position of need for that club?

Especially considering Chelsea have three first-team strikers at the moment...

But this Willian deal makes no sense to me.

The report isn't that Chelsea was interested. The report is Man U inquired about Mata.

Like I said unless he can play wide and be a true winger doesn't make sense to me either. I've not seen him enough to know what he's best at though.

I understand, I was just responding the the poster questioning why this one was even more absurd than the usual transfer drivel.

I think more than anything it's just United's way of hitting back a little publicly after our pursuit of Rooney. I don't think they have any real expectation of actually getting Juan Mata.

More than likely, it's just another game of "We're interested in every midfielder on the planet, but we won't actually go after the ones we can actually get".

It's been this summer's hottest game show.

we've been reduced to lying about Flamini because we're afraid of fan reaction if we announce him before another signing.

How do you Chelsea fans feel about getting Willian? It seems it will only add fuel to the whole "Mourinho doesn't rate Mata" fire. Doesn't seem like a needed signing at all.

He really impressed me when we played Shakhtar. He'd add some speed and is a legit winger, but I'd hate to get him at the expense of Mata. He's a better Moses, and he could definitely help, but I don't see whose position he would take. I just can't fathom having Mata, Hazard, or Oscar on the bench if they're fresh.

I guess i figured Rooney would automatically become your leading striker and starter and mata could fill the roll that rooney didn't want to fill at united. win win for both clubs.

If we want to win big somebody is gonna have to fathom it. We are too narrow and predictable with those three out there.
