Sorry. I can't tell you where you "might could find" them.

Whole Foods had them the other day. I was looking for veal shanks, and they caught my eye. Pricey though, but what isnt with Lamb.

I love shanks. I've actually had a pretty good osso bucco with a pork shank. Probably my favorite variation was with a lamb shank at Commaner's.
Mother of Christ that was some good shite

Yeah, veal is high and usually very difficult to find. Pork shanks are a very nice alternative IMO. Lamb sounds really interesting. I'd like to try that.

I made a lamb ragu with lamb shank. Absolutely out of this world. So tender and rich in flavor. I will always use bone in meat to do a rich braise. Enjoy!!!
Can't speak to Baton Rouge, but I'm sure Whole Foods has it. It's going to be much cheaper then Veal Shank.

Fresh Market or any places mentioned above. also, try ready portion if all else fails. Braise that stuff and serve over rice with mint jelly. mmmmph

if you are ever in Baton Rouge, Albasha has a wonderful lamb dish and Ginos has the best Osso Bucco I've had since Salvatores in the Golden Nugget.
if you can find a lebanese place near you give it a try.

Fresh Market sells them (or they did back in 2009 when I lived in BR)

I know the one in NOLA does, I would think the BR. one would too. Think I got mine for $5.99/lb.
