The only thing about the Sammy is that the feet on it are so wide. According to the manual the distance from outisde of one foot to the other is 44" (almost as wide as the tv). I have to do some measuring to see if it will fit on my existing tv stand in my room here. May buy it anyway and do some carpentry work to build a stand for it.

Wall mount, that's the way to go.
edit: this 4k Samsung I got for $400 over thanksgiving week was advertised as not having HDR, but apparently it does. Surprised how good this TV is for the price.

That is fckking nice. I have a Vizio 4K which took hours of confirming online just to find out it doesnt have HDR. Luckily we do have one purchased accidentally with HDR but fckk they make it hard to confirm on some of the older models.
Looks nice

Kinda hard to mount a tv to the wall of my room in Afghanistan or I definitely would.

Found the answer to my problem on Amazon:
Base of this stand is only 12x18 inches.
Will definitely order the 49" Samsung now.

That's a BenQ stand? I like it.

Can someone suggest a laptop for around $600 (No higher than $650)? I would need specs best geared toward light/medium photo editing.
My SIL would has a more powerful desktop she uses to do her major photo editing work, but would like something that would let her do some work on the road if necessary.
TIA!

I'm still digging the Acer I bought back in October and it has great specs for a budget workstation-style laptop:

My only complaint is the trackpad (by default, the shittiest thing on any standard Windows laptop), but after some troubleshooting I got it to work.

Well, a few days after I bought it, Windows 10 updated itself to the anniversary update, and the trackpad got laggy as frick. I fixed it by completely uninstalling the trackpad drivers, going into the bios to change the trackpad to "basic" mode, and then reinstalling the drivers. Been fine ever since.
It's apparently only a problem with ELAN trackpads. This particular laptop uses both a Synaptics and ELAN, depending on luck of the draw I guess. Synaptics requires no rejiggering.

Agreed. Made me stay with MBPs for several years just because of the trackpad.

I hate Paul from NewEgg. So white bread and lame.
Edt: Linus might be above Paul in my book. Linus is cringe but at less he has some personality behind it.

Cannot stand Linus. He is a fricking tool and to me his voice is like nails on a chalkboard. He also wears socks with sandals...LOL. I only watch the videos that Luke does on that channel.
Not a big fan of Hardware Canucks, either. All of their videos might as well be advertisements for the products they are talking about. They very rarely have anything negative to say about anything they review.
I like Paul because he is a no nonsense, shoot it straight kinda guy. I don't need shite that sounds like PewDeePie in my tech videos. I like Gamers Nexus for the same reason. Dude just gives you the info without a lot of bullshite. I probably watch the videos on Paul, Jayz2Cents, Gamers Nexus, and PCPer's channels more than any other tech sites.

PCPer is my favorite and by far the most technical. Mentioned here previously but my full name was read on PCPe's podcast about 2 episodes back as a Patron. Caught me by surprise listening, was weird shtt.

Cool! I really like them a lot. They are probably my favorite out of all of the tech sites.

I haven't watched or listened to any hardware-related podcasts in a while. I used to listen to Tech Report a lot. And Tek syndicate for Wendell. I want to punch Logan in the throat.
