I will look at it when I get back home. I think the first one was stretched and the others were centered.
The only changes in the bois I made were the 40% overclock on the cpu, and the ram voltage and mhz change. I've installed a ton of stuff, mostly steam, origin, and system tools like furmark, prime95, afterburtner, etc....

If so, that is 100% the problem. If you run it centered, the frame rate caps at 120 so the benchmark assumes that's the best the cards can do. Not a big deal with weaker cards that can't reach 120, but an SLI setup with 970s will easily exceed that cap. Stretched will give you accurate results.

I remember seeing the 120 cap in centered. I blame you, I was looking at the old epeen threads and you instructed people to run it centered not stretched and that's why I switched.
I will re-run stretched when I get home. I knew there had to be something going on because that was too big of a drop to be within the +/- margin. Thanks again for your time and assistance.

I just looked that shite up. Blue said that, not me!
Back then, I actually had no idea there was a difference. Wasn't until I had cards that noticeably exceeded 120fps that I realized it was capping.

Ok it's blue's fault, that bastid!
It's all a learning process, it just gets frustrating at times. I am at times delving into areas I probably shouldn't be, so most of it is operator error. I knew when the system booted on the 1st attempt things were going too smooth. The RAM thing still puzzles me that it wouldn't recognize it as 2133 and that I had to manually adjust it in the bios.

It's possible that the wrong XMP profile was flashed onto the RAM sticks. Doesn't affect performance by manually setting the specs, but it would definitely make it a pain in the arse for people who don't know what to do or how.

I had no idea about the cap. Guess I know now though!

hey guys, my laptop here at work supports 3 monitors, but i can't seem to get that 3rd monitor to work.
cpu - LINK
however, it sits on a docking station all day with 2 ports on the back of the dock for 2 monitors. the third is plugged into the side of the laptop. is that the main issue? the laptop is a lenovo thinkpad T530.

You'll probably need an active display adapter

What's weird is that I didn't find it out until I had crossfire 290s, yet prior to that I was running 3-way crossfire with my 7970s and 280X, which scores higher than the 290s. I'm almost certain I was running those centered when I contributed to last year's benchmark thread. I wonder if it's something new. When I got my 290s and overclocked the hell out of them, I was disappointed to see my graphics score a good 30-40% less than others. I was thinking some people had found a way to cheat the system undetected, but nope.
I think we should all switch to fire strike anyway. Although I think you have to pay for it or else it makes you run all of the other stupid benchmark tests too. I got a key on ebay for $5 a while back.

I picked it up when someone mentioned it on sale here once. It might go on sale during the up coming Steam wallet rapes.

This is why I don't run firestrike. I always miss the damn 3dmark sales on steam

That worked. Luckily an IT guy here had one. Thanks.
One more question. Is there a free task bar program i could use for multiple monitors.

Used cards are fine, especially if there's still a warranty.

For starters, did I help you overclock that 4770K?
Yes, you did.

If so, you should go into your bios and reset everything back to stock so we can be sure it's nothing to do with a motherboard setting. If you can, save your bios settings as a profile before resetting.
I can try that, but I haven't touched any settings in over a year.

I am running at 4.4 and it runs well without excessive heat, it runs at 4.7 fine and stable but I don't see a reason to continuously run it there.. I have yet to find a good setting on the net for the cards, once a find some good setting for the cards that make a difference I will bump it to 4.7 and see what I get. I have been messing with this thing since Saturday and right now I just want some DA:I time.
