Been meaning to ask you I am doing a new build before Feb for W3, I have the PS and SSD all else will be new. I can do it at anytime between now and then. Is there anything new coming out between now and then that I should wait for?

Not sure... AMD might respond with some new high-end stuff. NVIDIA might release the 980 Ti. Haven't really been keeping up with the timelines for that. But if you aren't doing a mega-overkill build, the new flagship releases won't mean much to you other than possible price drops on older stuff. Although I think the price drops have already happened in response to Maxwell as well as in preparation for upcoming releases, whenever those may be.

I guess I should start keeping an eye for sales and buying parts as I find them. I will need to figure out which mobo and cpu I want to go with that will probably be the biggest challenge. Going 1440 unless 4k is really worth it for the price, with a 27 inch ips.

I will need:
MOBO
CPU
GPU(s)
Case
Ram
Monitor
Cooler(s)

Not really on a budget, I am not looking for the best of the best but I want a good solid fast system that will last a while.

Anyone have back problems? Mine is flaring up so I can't sit in my chair to play games right now. This sucks.

I'm lucky so far even at my advanced age I don't really have back problems unless I tweak it. Everyone else in my family has had spine or disc surgery.

Your baseline GPU should be the GTX 970/R9-290X or better. Baseline CPU should be the i5-4690K or better. 8GB of RAM or more, and it should be fast-ish RAM. 10ns response time or better.

When you get some time and if you don't mind, assuming a $2k budget give or take will you suggest what I should look at building with for the components I need?

You're crippled by memory bandwidth and capacity. It's clear that it's a vram hog given the fairly large performance difference between the 780 Ti and 980.

The AMD cards are crippled by NVIDIA/Ubisoft buttsex.

Including monitor and tower, correct?

Pick a case style (or preferably, the exact case you would like).

What else are you going to use it for besides gaming?

What PSU do you already have?

I'm only 29, so none of that shite yet.

But, I should probably lose some weight or the joint and back issues will creep up on me sooner or later.

Yes including monitor and tower. Any suggestion for me to pick from regarding cases or a site to browse? I am not too picky on how the case looks.

Gaming and internet mostly

Seasonic 850 plat.

Change the case at will. Just make sure whatever you pick will accommodate the Swiftech H240-X. You may need to choose a different brand of GTX 970 depending on availability. They are in and out of stock all day long.

Also, you said you had an SSD but not a HDD. I didn't include HDD storage in the list though.

EDIT: Alternative link to buy the H240-X cooler: LINK
