You have a 7970 sitting in a box at your house!
They also have another Sapphire 7970 on sale right now for $296.
The 7970 won't be THAT much of an upgrade will it? I was thinking about using it for my spare rig.. Or do you think I should just use it for this one?

Not if you are only playing in 1080p at 60HZ. You don't need that much.
Posted on 7/27/13 at 11:46 am to ILikeLSUToo
Nah, I 1080p.
Ok, Fine. I'll just use my 7970... I'm fricking buying something today though dammit

Buy me a kit of 16GB ram.
I might grab another cpu like the one I bought from you for my spare rig.

I am putting a spare rig together that my friend is going to buy eventually.

I just put that 660 I have up for sale on Amazon. It's a good card but I have a 7870GHz and 7970GHz sitting here as well as a 660Ti on it's way to Zotac for RMA.

Just put together:
4770K (4.3 right now)
H110
Gigabyte Z87X-UD4H
32GB G.Skill Ripjaws 2133
Kept SSD, RAID, 7950 Crossfire from previous rig
Windows 8 and Raid install worked flawlessly with new parts, was extremely surprised

Just bought the first piece to my PC
Got a 7870 XT off newegg for $166 Should have been $6 cheaper but Shoprunner doesn't work on newegg mobile, so I had to pay $6 for slow shipping

3-4 virtual machines at any one time, XP / Vista / W7 / Linux
ETA: Got the ram for 190 shipped, its 270 new
XTU stable at 4.5, but into the high 70s. Not bad for a lidded chip.

What do you do with those virtual machines?
You should delid. It's easy with the vise/hammer method, and I got a 20+ C temp reduction by replacing the TIM under the IHS with liquid ultra.
