ahhh the memories
quote:
Never root for the Blue Barracudas. It's like saying your favorite Ninja Turtle was Leonardo. Very predictable. Very soft.
quote:
Olmec just said Galileo was one of the first to use experiments "to prove his discoveries." Guess what? I didn't know that. But now I do. Because this show is incredible.

quote:Completely true. They were always stacked.
Silver Snakes: a stacked team 90 percent of the time.
quote:
In '93, there was no reason to believe this wasn't, in fact, the actual staff of King Tut. Hell, I still have no proof that it isn't.
quote:
I always imagined that if Silver Snakes lost in the first round, they were disowned by their families and communities as a whole.
This stuff is gold.
quote:
The Green Monkeys made it in. I'm very happy with this. It's slightly unfortunate, however, that they're about to get WAXED by Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook.

Watching the episode first, then reading the episode.
Making Galileo sound like Brando's Godfather was pretty racist. Olmec = POS

"Gravity is a study from which field: physics..."
*Blue baracudas chime in*
"SCIENCE!"
Stupid mother fricker.

AMEN I wanted nothing more than to participate in a Nick game show as a child.

I remember seeing the set when taking a tour of Nick Studios on a trip to Orlando in the 90s....it was pretty damn awe-inspiring.

It's so obvious that they're asking the kids's strategies so as to place the guards to frick them.

3:18 The Based Fogg just said the single most important phrase of '90s kids game shows. To the eliminated:
"You're not going to go away empty-handed."
I'm more excited about this relic of a prize than the competition itself. PLEASE BE POGS OR A PAIR OF L.A. LIGHTS.
Shut up.
THE RED CHIPMUNKS OR WHATEVER ARE GETTING STUCK WITH A CARTON OF PARTING-GIFT CHOCOLATE MILK.
They deserve it.

frick - I have no idea what this show was, as I am a bit too old, but I was able to locate this gem:
Rembert Explains the 80's: Men Without Hats, 'Safety Dance'
I am in tears

I definitely would have traded my telescope backstage for a pair of those BK Ratchteks.

Silver Snakes: relaxing. Green Monkeys: almost at the finish line. Blue Barracudas: losing but still competing. Orange Iguanas: the worst. It's really beautiful.
So stinkin' true. That whole article was a nostalgia rush

I feel bad you're too old to appreciate the pure awesomeness of a pair of BK Clicks.
I think you can relate to making fun of guys who wore L.A. Lights though, right?

Ratch Techs, they were like shoes with zip ties and the closest thing to Marty McFly's self strapping shoes at the time. But still, they were BKs and only a step above having your shoes light up when you walk.

Some girl did an interview about her time on the show. Can't find it but it was awesome

Searching for the interview I found this AMA from Reddit. The Grantland writer stole the frick out of some of his jokes from the comments.
