it's laughable that people are trying to find some deep meaning in this movie. the movie was absolute garbage, you are truly desperate for a "cult classic" if you are lumping this pathetic attempt at anything more than Disney girls gone wild into that category

that's just, like, your opinion, man.
there's more to the film. just because you don't see it doesn't mean it's not there.

There most definitely is more to it than this. You can think that making a movie about the idolation of mindless partying by college aged people is a vain, vacuous, and plain stupid effort. You can also think that it was poorly done. But if you think that girls gone wild is all that there is then you just didn't get it. Again it is satire. Did you think that A Modest Proposal was just an insane solution to a food shortage?

yeah. though i would say it uses satire, but is not satire itself, per se. the shootout at the end was an amped up, hyperbolic portrayal of the 'no rules' depravity usually attached to spring break, something the girls work towards slowly, with the viewer pushed each step of the way into deciding what they're comfortable with.
even if the viewer didn't 'get' the attacks on youth culture, sexuality and exploitation (which to a point is not only acceptable, but encouraged by societ [e.g. 'titties, beer, project x fricking ruled!']) , but instead saw it as a straight-forward portrayal of what it was mimicking, i don't see how the viewer couldn't at least find the power shift between the girls and alien to be extremely interesting.

what did you think it was trying to be?
here are a couple discussions that capture the movie pretty well:
LINK (probably the closes to my thoughts, though focuses too much on race)
LINK (decent write up, though i think slightly off)

I had been trying to figure out the purpose of the final gun fight. That review seems like it gave an acceptable reason to me. It works if you think about the spring break world as the real world and the college life as the fantasy. I had been thinking of it the opposite. The gun fight is the climax of the severity of competition that the drug dealers face in their pursuit of the American Dream. Interesting.
I do think the race thing is pretty off base. I guess it's there to an extent, but it is better to just leave it as a class thing.

Just watched it, and wow was it terrible. Just an overall trashy, painfully annoying movie. The director tried to make it all deep, but there was just nothing there. I am happy I did not spend a dime on this POS.
The one positive is the camerawork. Gomez and the two blondes were smokin. Didn't like Franco's character at all though.
You will think this movie is cool if you are 16.

I'm 19.. And I thought it was great.
It was raw, I guess if you're a really straight edge white person you won't care for it. But the younger generation, especially those from the south will love this movie

Watched it last night and thought it was ridiculous, if not somewhat entertaining.
My 2 favorite parts:
When Gucci Mane pulls up in his Lambo and yells "BRRR!" right as his bro shoots the girl in the arm
When James Franco is jumping up and down on his bed yelling "LOOK AT ALL MY SHEEET" in a complete rip off of the Riff Raff video where he itemizes his kitchen.
Liked the use of color and the soundtrack, hated that they kept repeating shite over and over.
The ATL Twins were a nice touch as well

Just finished watching it and yes, ridiculous and entertaining are how I would describe it.
I liked it.
Some of the naked bodies however, I wish I hadn't seen.
ETA: Did anyone else catch former wrestler Jeff Jarrett as the pastor at the beginning?
