There are a few teams, in the future, that I'm always going to pick against because they are perennial early exits every year: Georgetown, New Mexico, Missouri, UNLV.......

Would need to go further. George Mason made the final 4. I believe LSU was a 12 seed in 86 fwiw.

Gotta at least get to the Final Four to take that title.

However, these last 2 games are the biggest and best recruiting tools FGCU has ever had.

That has to make them #1, regardless of GM

Lsu was an 11 seed in 1986. George mason also has a huge enrollment. Fgcu is a much bigger cinderella.

George Mason won 2 more games than FGCU. It's going to be debatable unless FGCU beats Florida. Also, GM is a Mid Major and LSU was from a power conference, big difference.

If nothing else, this was the greatest Cinderella opening weekend for a tournament team.

The kentucky and kansas teams that lsu and vcu beat were every bit as good as that uconn team.

Also played the first two games in Baton Rouge.

If I remember right, that team had an illness outbreak near the end of the season that caused them to lose a bunch of games, dropping their seeding.

Yes the first 2 rounds were in Baton Rouge. I was at both the Purdue (2 OT) and Memphis St. (Anthony Wilson) games.

I think they were an 11 seed in 2006. Fla.GC is a 15. So, getting to the Sweet 16 makes them close. If they get to the Elite Eight, I think they are a bigger Cinderella than Geo. Mason.
