I am going to get rid of my yard guy and start doing it myself. I am considering purchasing a battery powered lawn mower. Does anyone have any experience with one? Any advice? TIA

I wouldn't consider anything but gas

As a general rule, gas>electric for yard tools

Get a gas one, don't be a hippy.

Electric would probably be ok for a small yard that gets cut very often.
If you let it get tall/thick you'll be very angry

My grandpa tried an electric one, he got so redassed with it, he threw it out. Zero power, if you don't have golf course grass, it does no good.

If you're getting rid of your lawn service, you must either be broke or he does a crap job on your yard. I'm thinking you broke cause you wanna buy a battery mower cause you can't afford gas. Just keep your lawn service man!!!

I agree with everyone here. Just get gas and be a man about it.

If you get one, just understand that people will be laughing at you, not with you

If you get an electric one at least go with the roomba one that cuts the grass by itself.

They make those?
I would get a goat. It's automatic also.

Why not just get a 1950's reel mower if you dont wanna burn gas?
Edit: guessed on year here guys. Dont know when those actually existed

They still make them and they supposedly work very well if you keep the blades sharp and keep your grass short.
Moral of the story: just get a gas one

I had a reel mower at my last house, worked really good, just have to keep the grass cut on a regular basis. To me the reel mower cuts better than a gas one.
