My aunt gave my wife and me a gift card to Outback. Going to save some money tonight by using it.
Anyone recommendations on their steaks?
I haven't eaten there in a decade.

Don't get one. Their other menu items are much better, in my experience.

The prime rib is usually pretty solid.

I went for the first time in ten years a few months back. The ribeye and wedge salad were good. It is what it is but I had no complaints.

Prime rib is really good. They were out of prime rib when I went last weekend, so I got a ribeye that was quite tasty.
I freely admit, I like Outback and get a hankering for their food once in a while.

But I'm REALLY in the mood for a steak. Are the steaks that bad or would you say that the other menu items are actually high quality-can't miss food items?

Get the Prime Rib, seasoned and seared. It's money. Their Chicken Wings app. are pretty damn tasty too.

I don't think so. I'm not a food snob by any means. If you want a steak, get the Ribeye.

I wouldn't call them either of those things, but I've just found that their other items are good while I'd rather get a steak somewhere else. Just my 2 cents.

Spend the entire gift card on take-home appetizers and cook your own steaks.

Get the Victoria's filet, it's really good. Too many snobs here that will tell you nothing there is good.

It would be interesting to see what percentage of the business at Outback is made up of gift cards. It seems to be a big reason why people choose this place, and it's the same reason that I was there on my lone visit. I was pleasantly surprised, and I did get a steak, so you're in for a treat if you looking for some red meat. Again, it wouldn't be my first choice, but there's that gift card thing...

Prime rib. Seasoned an seared. Be sure to tell them that.

Exactly what I was coming post.

If you get a steak, order it more rare than you want, they always cook it longer than you request

Not always true. Mine was fine but friends steak was almost raw.

When you say seasoned and seared, what exactly do they do to the steak? Thanks

I don't think the steaks are bad. They aren't great either. They're perfectly acceptable steaks, not necessarily cooked the way I order them, but acceptable. I haven't been in about a year, but the filet is fine. I usually order the pork tenderloin dish which I like a lot. It's well prepared and tastes good. If I'm there again, I'm going to try the prime rib as suggested. I usually end up there about once a year.
Steamed veggies are good. Sweet potatoes are usually creamy and good. I like the Russian or whatever the orange salad dressing is. There's a blue cheese salad there that I get that's very good.

Never had a bad meal there. Prime Rib if you have no idea. Ribeye if you really want one. Alice Springs Chicken if you like chicken, bacon and cheese. The broccoli is there best side. Best I've had anywhere.
