They didn't let her write the screenplay. Andrew Niccol wrote and directed it. He's legit. And Saoirse did an amazing job.

Still don't have high hopes for it.

Saoirse got out of the Lovely Bones alive, so she'll be ok.

holy shite that looks terrible. And it kind of feels like a rip-off of part of the hunger games story (fighting off brainwashing by capital instead of alien investing thingies) which makes it even shittier.

My wife read the book and said it is really good. It isn't sappy like twighlight.

The premise sounds a lot like The Faculty.

The book is slow, but really interesting. I enjoyed it.

I'll see the movie...

I stayed away from this book for the longest time because of the twilight crap, but once my wife convinced me to read it i found it to be a very interesting book. It's certainly not a very original premise, but the plot is good once you get into the meat of the story.

As far as the movie goes, i am going to take the wife to go see it. I am concerned about how well it translates to the big screen though. Internal dialog is a huge part of the book and you can't just cut that out of the story. How well they do that will determine how well the movie does

The theatrical trailer from your link looks really good. Meyer has done it again. Who doesn't like an epic love story?
