QB on very cheap rookie deal. Not a lot of money being spent on offense. Didn't extend Goldson.
They did just eat $6M for Boldin's contract though. I don't believe they're well endowed with cap space, rather they just have a very creative GM in Trent Baalke, who is a very good executive.

Where in the world is SF getting this $$ to be in on everyone.
A team can be in on several players no matter the cap space. Cap space only matters when it comes time to sign. Then a team has to make a choice on who to sign out of those players they were "in on"

And do what with Greer?
Good point, I am a huge Greer fan. I would think he has 1-2 good years left and these guys can be our future corners.

We don't have the cap space to sign two players to be our "future corners" in free agency... draft is a different story

if ryan can make him repeat what he did in Oakland, i would love to have him, at the right price

I didnt think Cox and Lewis were high market players. Maybe so, I figured if Saints were going after Asomugha, both their salaries would be equal or lower than what he will want.

Would be a fine fit for Nnamdi. He was pretty much dominant in a press-man scheme for years in oakland.
I don't think he'll be able to re-live that success though, he's 31. Probably slowing down. But still.

Anybody have an idea what he is asking for?

I'm not disagreeing with you on that, it's a roster space issue.
ETA: Plus, if we are going to spend any money, we are going to want someone who can come in and make an immediate impact on an every down role if its someone in the secondary. Doubt we would sign someone to play a nickel role, that would come from within.

Somewhere a little over 5 million I'd imagine
Shot in the dark guess.

Random thought: asomugha at safety Jenkins back at corner?

Imagine Nnamdi and Quddis combining on a play, as described by Buddy D.

No. Put Nnamdi on an island in man coverage and shut down that side of the field. He struggled in a zone type system in Philly.

Exactly. Let him do what he does best Revis style. He mans up.

As standalone signings, I think Cox or keenan lewis would both start here immediately tbh. Looking at all these corners is a serious referendum on poor Patrick Robinson.

Exactly. He is an amazing talent in press man coverage. Zone, not so much as you saw in Philly. And Ryan's defense commands solid man coverage from the corners.

Nah. Nnamdi's coverage skills are still elite methinks, would prefer as a corner.

Too much.

this and after looking a little closer, he'll probably be asking for something around $7 million at the least.

No, I completely agree with that, I was referring to him saying we could sign both. Was saying we aren't gonna bring someone in to replace Greer, hence signing both would reduce someone to a nickel role.
