I'm going skiing this weekend and was wondering what is a good snack/protein bar to bring. Just looking for something with not a ton of calories but good carb and protein ratio. Just curious what is y'all's go to when skiing?
Thanks
Thanks

I bring Deer Jerky and Gin/Vodka to mix with grapefruit juice. Eat a hearty breakfast and that for mid afternoon snack.

this is key
I usually bring a couple of Snickers bars and a ziplock bag of almonds. Also stop and get a beer every hour or a so.

They hand out free granola bars at the base. It's all you'll need. Plus if you don't go regularly you'll be dogshit tired by noon and need to sit down for lunch

Dude, you burn so many kcals skiing there is no need to worry about minutia. You'll drink away all that from snow cooled kegs of IPAs anyway.

Haha that's true. I plan on drinking many snow cooled beers. One of my favorite parts of skiing. I just wanted some feedback from y'all.

My camel-back usually had trail-mix, dark chocolate, green-grass, a bowl and a bladder of good red wine.

seriously, though, you should look into energy supplements used by folks like endurance athletes. Things like Hammer Energy Bars or Clif Shot Roks/Bloks (which I love - you can just pop one in and suck on it for 20 minutes) or maybe even energy gels (GU roctane is often compared to crack in a bag - it's that good). Lots of people have trouble stomaching the gels but they are effective and easy.
