Shame. Perhaps a lemon that got through. The SCG is Colt's top of the line 1911 and normally lives up to that reputation.
Good luck with your purchase, whatever you buy. The anticipation is the best part.

That new warrior soc is sick!! Do you know if these are hand fitted?
Posted on 3/5/13 at 9:36 pm to LouisianaChessie
The warrior is a great looking weapon. Kimbers used to all be hand fitted. Not sure about the new ones.

Weagle99, you have inspired me to put another colt in my hands before I buy anything.

I've got a Delta Elite you can handle.

Haha may take you up on that. You still live where you did about a year ago?

I have no idea if they are but yeah the new soc is sick.
Still holding out for a colt cqb though.

Colt handguns are just so damn fine regardless of model

Colts are made in America and use almost 100% forgings or machined bar stock. This sets them apart from almost every other 1911 on the market.
I will agree that Colts are amazing 1911s and are pretty much the original ones behind the design with the genius John Moses Browning. But this statement isn't true of all 1911s. Off the top of my head, both S&W and Ruger make their 1911s 100% in the US. My S&W has a forged frame and slide, and the Ruger has a forged slide and cast frame. Springfield's lower-end models have cast frames, but their higher-end 1911s are American made with forged frames. I'm pretty sure Kimbers and Remingtons are also 100% US made but I won't stick to that claim without knowing for sure.
As for the OP, the TRP is a great gun. Springfield has some amazing 1911s. My buddy's Operator is beautiful and shoots like a dream. But, if you go with a Colt you're still making a good decision. Here is my Smith with a Remington Rand and my buddy's Operator.

For sure. It has come a long way and they are the kings of it.
They make a hell of a revolver too, huh?

Can I call a beretta 92 a 1911?
Posted on 3/5/13 at 9:54 pm to bapple
The slide safety on that Smith is very trick looking.

Wouldn't know. I only own a Dan Wesson revolver.
