Yep, we have exactly the type of medical team to help a player recover from major knee surgery

he'll be fine
He'll be less explosive and still won't have developed offensive skills.

i would hope they go through the process thoroughly.
but i dont think his ACL tear had anything to do with the injury his Soph year in HS. It was just a freak thing. Landed wrong.

my personal board as of now is
1 Noel- i just think he & Davis in the frontcourt would give team fits, and he would add some much needed athleticism to this team
2 Muhammad- a wing player with + athleticism who can score the ball. THe Hornets #1 need.
3 Porter - reminds me a lo of granger. bill tall wing player that can score the ball. Again, big need.
4 Oladipo- huge energy, very athletic, scores efficiently. Reminds me of a poor mans DWade. I think of anyone listed, he has the chance to be a much better pro than what he is college player; and he is already pretty solid. At worst, i think he is a 6th man-quasi starter for a really good NBA team.
Great board LE, I actually agree with all of it. Would love porter or oladipo if shabazz is gone & Noel stays.

and the plethora of other athletes whose careers ended early because of multiple knee injuries. Hi, Shaun Livingston.

For some reason Draft Express will change the date on their Mock Draft and not actually change anything except team order. I'm pretty sure that those players are in the exact same position as when the season started.
They usually don't start really messing with it and doing the actual profiles until after the tournament.

Hard to say either way. Still, 2 significant knee injuries in less than 4 years and he has yet to play a grueling NBA schedule.
Shaun Livingston also had a "landed wrong" "freak" injury at around the same age. He went from a stud prospect and worked his arse off to become a contributor. If you don't think those knee injuries are going to hamper his athleticism (which is his #1 selling point right now), we'll just have to disagree and watch it play out.

Brandon Roy has an arthritic knee. And has had surgery on BOTH knees multiple times
as far as livingston, im not sure you even understand the severity of his knee injury. Multiple ligaments, dislocated knee, torn meniscus

read below
quote:
He sustained tears of his anterior cruciate ligament, the posterior cruciate ligament, lateral meniscus, and retinaculum, the tissue that surrounds the kneecap. He tore his medial collateral ligament and dislocated his tibia-femoral joint and patella.
lets get it straight, Noel tore his ACL, and that is it.

You cant compare a torn ACL to severe knee arthritis and near amputation
especially with the advancements in todays recovery time from a torn ACL

Oladipo has moved into the top 10. He started out in everybody's 2nd round.
They've dropped guys like Mcadoo and Tony Mitchell out of the lottery.

And you don't think the accumulated scar tissue from these injuries are going to cause any arthritic conditions?

Trust me, I've read all about his injury. It's a miracle he ever played another game in the NBA. That said, he's a fraction of the player he was before. You trotted out Adrian Peterson like it somehow proves that it's no big deal. Peterson is an anomaly. Trying to imply that he's the new norm is pretty silly.
I'm also interested in what type of *ahem* treatment Peterson received during his recovery.

I know we have Gordon but the more and more I see of Oladipo the more and more I like him. He's is unbelievably athletic and reminds me of the young Dwayne Wade.
But if he never builds a develops some skill sets, he could be Gerald Green. D Wade is a good comparison though.

Downplay at your own risk.
Name 5 players in the NBA who have come back from an ACL reconstruction without losing athleticism. Hell, expand it to NBA and NFL.

I like Trey Burke a lot. For some reason, I just see him as having a Mike Conley type career.

I like Noel too. Just not next to Davis.
Body-wise those guys are identical and we've seen how much Davis has struggled with nba strength. That's not something that will change in one offseason. Its gonna be years before he's strong enough to really bang with nba big men. It will be the same with Noel.
Offensively, at least Davis has a 15 ft jumper to use until he gets strong enough for the post. Noel doesn't have those skills
I just don't like having two 220 lb C/PFs
