I would be happy with Len. I think he fits well next to Davis. He gives you the banger for your twin towers, and the banger even has more offensive skill. Even OKC depends on Perkins with Ibaka.

In think Len is a very good prospect. I agree with the comment in the article regarding perception bias.

interesting on porter. that is a bit troublesome.

agree on len. if they get bumped to 6 or 7, I could see him as the pick. the team would have more options to play with lopez

Yeah, given that we have other players that struggle with the left hand, it could make it hard to design a well-functioning offense around them. Allows too much shading on defense.

That said, I only watched so much film, but it just seemed to stand out. If someone else can find film that disagrees with me, please share it. I'm sure the scouts have picked up on it if I noticed.

Scouting Report on Anthony Bennett

LINK

quote:

Bennett has good foot speed and lateral quickness to defend players on the perimeter, but he needs to do a better job with his positioning and his reaction time to his player’s movements.

quote:

Bennett is a unique, physically gifted talent, but his progression is going to rely a lot on the effort he puts in to getting better combined with a coach who knows how to reign in his bad tendencies. On the offensive end, Bennett can provide scoring inside and out, and can be a match-up problem at the NBA level. Defensively, he really needs to learn and understand the game more, learn to use the body he has to make an impact, and put in the effort needed to consistently make stops. These changes won’t come quickly, and teams will need to be patient with him often in the early years. If they are, they have a good chance at ending up with an impact player.

Draft Value:  Early 1st Round– High to Mid Lottery - #4-9

Bennett’s real potential impact is down the road, so his recent surgery for a rotator cuff injury should have little to no impact on his draft status. Teams understand his physical gifts and time away from the game and talking with coaching staffs could give him the insight he needs to make necessary changes.

Article comparing Shabazz to Harrison Barnes

quote:

They are basically, as 20-year-old college players, the same prospects. Barnes went No. 7 in a poor draft and now looks like a great pick. There's no data-based reason that we see out in the public eye for Shabazz to be treated as much worse. (I don't doubt that there could be differences when you look at more proprietary data, but no one is citing that stuff in explaining why Shabazz isn't worthy of a top-14 pick.)

the numbers are almost identical. quite interesting

quote:

there's a backlash against score-only, moderate efficiency wings, of which Barnes and Muhammad appear to be the heirs. But at rookie scale prices, these types of plug-and-play prospects are becoming highly undervalued. Barnes may never be an All-Star, but a guy making $12 million over four years who can start every game he plays for a 47-win team is a darned steal. Just don't overpay him in 2016!

That only means so much in basketball. He needs the offhand to have full range for rebounding, defending, catching, etc.

If we don't crack the top 3, Michael Carter Williams is whom I'd draft.

Hoopshype is floating that Oladipo is being considered at both #1 overall by the Cavs and #2 overall by the Magic.

If that happens, the chances of two of McLemore, Noel, Burke, Len, Porter, Bennett, etc., reaching us increases.
