How would it not? His universe now encompasses both Batman and Superman. Superman is an alien from another planet. I fail to see how the JL wouldn't jive with Nolan's Universe.

Radical internet nerds rejoice and compare their excitement to sexual experiences they'll never have.
I can't wait for Nolan's griddy take on Aquaman.

Best news is that David Goyer will most likely write the script.

Because his entire character archetype is the Batman loner one. The entire trilogy was about sacrifice, putting burdens on the shoulders of a singular, etc.
The Bale timeline alone doesn't fit at all. If you did anything with Bale's character you would completely ruin the trilogy.

Are we 100% positive that they take place in the same universe?

Just stop for a second and put Darkseid in The Dark Knight.
Wait for it.
Wait for it.
It feels cheesy as hell. There's no way that works at all.

Goyer is a terrible writer.

Couldn't the JL movie just take place in between Begins and before DK/DKR?
I mean, I guess...but think about that for a second. Supes and Bats know each other...work together, and he stiffs Batman when Gotham's being destroyed by Bane and Batman is all old and retired?
Maybe I'm the only one, but the thing I loved about Nolan's universe was that it really WASN'T a superhero movie so much as it was a crime drama. It was an incredible and sort of different take on Batman and it worked. I'd liken it to the one off comic called Batman:Gotham by Gaslight where it's set in turn of the last century Gotham and Jack the Ripper has come to Gotham.
And as for rebooting Batman, it wouldn't require the full get-to-know-you bullshite we have to endure. Everyone knows Batman's backstory and it could be addressed like ti was in The Incredible Hulk with a montage of what happened in the opening credits.

But do you want to do that with arguably the most popular comic book movie character? The issue is, either Supes or Batman or both are going to carry this film. And if Batman carries the movie, or is part of that, you will NEED to flesh out the new take on Batman.

Also, yeah Batman is the great superhero of all-time, no doubt about that,

Agreed. There needs to be a level of suspension of disbelief for superhero movies to really work. We saw Nolan go out of his way to ground nearly everything in his universe to make it as real as possible and yet still be Batman. I mean, one of the biggest complaints about TDK was Batman going after Rachel off the side of his penthouse and fall 50 stories onto the car...and people complained it couldn't have happened. Well...no shite.
But we're going to introduce Darkside, or Mongul, or Granny Goodness and the whole New Gods, etc. to that universe?
Nah...what made Noaln's universe work so well would be what would make it not work for his Bats to slide into a universe that could accept the JL.
As for Man of Steel taking place in Nolan's universe...where are we getting that? I think that's just an assumption. What's more likely is they liked his grittier take on Batman and wanted a similar treatment for Superman...a little deeper than we've seen in the past.

I love Batman...so I'd be down for yet ANOTHER origin movie. I'm not sure if everyone would...and I'm not sure it would be necessary.
Honestly...my biggest fear is that a live action Batman simply can not stand up in the DC universe when you team him up with real superheroes and super powered villains. You can get away with his coping in the comics and cartoons by basically making him something far more than a man but not quite super-powered type of guy...but can that work in live action without looking or feeling silly? Don't know. I hope.
I just worry he'd come off as useless as Hawkeye standing next to Hulk. And if you only use his for his mental skills, then you really lose an exceptional character.

Heck, some of the Captain America comments were about how bad he was compared to Hulk, IM, and Thor. So even a super powered character has big shoes to fill for a general audience. Think about Superman and Batman together, that could be worse than Hulk and CA.

Nolan's Batman isn't no. But Batman from the comic books is, no doubt.

I get where all of you are coming from and I loved the Nolan Batman, but I just don't get that worked up about where it fit's in with the Nolan trilogy. If the movie is good, it works for me. That's all I care about.
I read comics a long time and while I appreciated a general flow of continuity, I always liked a good story overall.
fwiw, I would rather see a more athletic/action oriented Batman in the JL movies but I certainly understand the ticket sales that Bale returning would bring.

They'll probably have Batman pulling out different Bat gadgets and vehicles left and right to compensate. He'll probably also be the brains/leader of the team as well. He could stand among them better than Cap did, although I didn't have a problem with Cap's role in Avengers.

No way. Caps' acrobatics put him at least in some different class from Widow and Hawkeye. You're thinking of purely Superman, but add Flash, Green Lantern, WW Martian Manhunter and/or Aquaman and Bats is going to feel lame.
PLUS, Marvel spent time building the world it did. Viewers were able to become accustomed to it (and it was developed as a very "tech" focused world, if that makes sense). Without a frame of reference, it's going to be hard to make Batman fit. And if it takes place in Nolan's world, no way he fits.

My only problem was him getting punked by Loki, that really hurt is character and what he brings to the table, that scene was written poorly to give dynamics to the team. Same goes for his role in the Helicarrier sequence. I hope they fix that in the next film.

Yeah but what if Batman and his tech and intellect is to the JL what Tony Stark/Banner/Shield were to the Avengers?
Batman and Bruce Wayne's wealth and connections bring a lot more to the table. In battle, he could be similar to Iron Man as he should be in some vehicle/equipment during the fight.

I understand that but I think our view of "Nolan's world" will start to change after MOS comes out.

One word: Ewww. I mean I get it, that is a happy medium but that would be a huge disservice to the character methinks.

Yeah you're right. Don't forget that the writers can always include some aspect of the battle that would be better tackled by Batman than any of the others. What helps him here is that his teammates are all superpowered as opposed to Cap who had Black Widow and Hawkeye on the same team.
They do this in the comics all of the time. There may be an undercover assignment or some type of espionage type mission that only Batman can undertake.
