He wasn't a key part to them making a Super Bowl run.
Except he opened things up allowing Crabtree to have his best season as a pro.
I wouldn't want him on the saints but the guy definitely played a role

I like the idea… gives us basically Devery, with better hands, and for a cheaper price…. he's shown he can play 2nd (or 3rd or 4th…) fiddle and not be a disruption, so why not…. vet minimum for him and if he does become a problem, cut him…. win-win in my estimation….

That was Mike Mckenzie first game as a Saint

Exactly what i say, and i think teams will always have to worry about Moss when he is on the field

If we're looking for a guy for one year, I'd rather give Charles Woodson a look.

nice idea, but he's not really considered on the "down" side of his career quite yet… still can command a good bit of money…. this may make him too costly for us as we are cash strapped as it is…

I think his season high was 22 plays in one game
Moss was a complete nonfactor this season

He was a major factor. He made things easier for Crabtree and Davis

By barely playing?
What different coverage do you have to play against a player on the sideline?
ETA his own personal development as a player, the run game and The better overall QB play is what helped Crabtree play better
And apparently Moss didnt help Davis too much sense he disappeared once Kapernick became the QB

caught 28 passes on 50 targets
434 yards with an average of 15.5ypc
2.9 yac
3TDs
1fumble
not bad in an extremely run heavy offense

Vernon Davis had only 13 more catches than Moss. I wouldn't say Moss was a complete non factor but whatever.

Thats more of a reflection on Davis's production on the year than it does Moss's
Hes deffinitly closer to a complete non factor than he was to Major Factor

Moss was open on a streak down middle of field during 49ers last drive of SB. Kapernick threw it to Davis instead (that he dropped) but def could have scored if ball went his way. That would be all the Saints would really need from him. A seam down middle of field on play action to keep the safeties honest, opening up things for Colston on sidelines and Jimmy underneath. Like someone said earlier, he's basically Devery with better hands, but draws more attention.

So now were counting almost plays?
If you saw that play than im sure you saw him gator arm on Reeds INT as well

I have no dog in this fight so its all good.
I think he would benefit more in the Saints pass heavy attack though. If we picked him up, great! If not, no big deal.

pretty much exactly how i feel about the situation.

I pointed out that specific play bc it's a good example of what Moss is still capable of doing, and doing well. Stretch the field. Not saying if Brees was QB he would have hit him in stride, but that any experienced/all-pro QB like a Brees or Brady knows how to read the field and find the open man more times than not.
I think Moss would be a great addition. Morgan is still young, but could benefit on how to run routes better, especially the deep ball. See no harm in having him on team if he's affordable.

Just be glad yall didnt sign him last year
Moss on an 0-5 squad is just asking for a meltdown

the thing is, who do we have that can replace devery if nick toon doesn't emerge or if joe morgan doesn't produce consistently or not as big as a homerun hitter next year. no one.
it's a low risk high reward, as long as he stays non-diva like last year
