Explain why Braves fans and MLB people think a .500 baseball team is great and has a good shot at a pennant then. If the Braves win one out of three in a weekend series here, the baseball nerds think it was awesome.

MLB and CBB are not comparable in that respect. And no one thinks a .500 team is great, even in the majors. .500 teams don't make the playoffs. No one thinks a series loss is awesome either

Yes, a stupid comparison.

9-7 teams in the NFL have won the superbowl too.

It is tougher for LSU fans outside of La. to have better tabs on baseball than football. I keep up with the final scores of the baseball games, but I cannot carry a conversation about sluggish bat performance. However, football has the ability to be on a national broadcast on every weekend in the fall. So I would definitely label myself a better football follower.

Chalk it up to the race card, whether you want to hear it or not; I hear that all the time from the long time followers of b.ball.

i really am amazed at all of the racial comments. i have never been more than a football fan and have always been an avid baseball fan. it's BECAUSE I LOVE BASEBALL. what color i am is not remotely relevant.

I don't know if baseball fans are more knowledgeable but I think the hardcore fans maybe appreciate the game a little more

baseball is a much more cerebrial game than football. there is so much going on in the dugout and on the field that the casual fan has no clue of.

Very true. There are unseen strategies and counter strategies at play just about everywhere. The untrained eye sees none of this, and thinks it's just backyard "let 'er rip" baseball.
