Guys on NFL Combine right now are saying Tavon Austin at 15 would be a great fit for the Saints. Looks really good today plus a 4.25 isn't bad. Opinions?

I would love to see the meltdown on here if we did that instead of D or an OT.

If we go offense besides LT with any of the first 4 picks I will be pretty pissed.

We had the worst defense in the history of the NFL last year and they think WR is a good fit with our FIRST pick. Idiotic

As much as I would love to see Tavon in black and gold, I think the Saints stay with their BPA philosophy only it will be the best defensive player available.

No we need defense! Trade down pick up a 2nd round pick and use the first two picks on defense. Get a Wr who has size and speed in the 3rd round. Worst defense in the NFL needs alot of help.

Ever thought maybe the Saints can improve their defense through free agency?

You take best player available, whether it be defense or offense. If he's the highest rated available player on their board, they'll take him.

Not really the same thing

Tavon actually produced in college and was a 1st round WR before the combine

Austin is a similar but slightly better Dexter McCluster. If we go WR in the first, I'd much rather it be Corrdarelle Patterson or nothing.

I understand you draft best player on the board and not what you need. Our board the last 3-4 years has been shady except for Cameron Jordan! All defense! Kinda hard to believe the best rated the last few years has all been on defense. Mark Ingram was from trade.

It's too bad we don't need a mid-round slot guy. TCU's Josh Boyce is killing it today. A pair of 4.38 40s, 22 bench reps (2nd among WRs) and just stuck a 10'11" broad jump.

Devery is likely gone. Lance Moore isn't getting younger, and neither is Colston. We recently drafted Toon. Morgan is coming on, but maybe we can bring in another young WR to help the transition to take place?

Marquis Goodwin from Texas tied Austin with a 4.25 of his own in the 1st run and out performed him in the second 4.29 to 4.31. All of those times are unofficial hand-times though.LINK Those are some seriously fast puppies regardless.

The Saints have a guy close to that fast already on the roster in Saalim Hakim. Hope he can turn into something.
