Very true. DE is a lot easier for a young player to play. DT requires true man-strength.

Let's see him play first.. No doubt he may be a monster.. But let's wait to declare him a beast till we see him play

Elusive guys like Manziel, Driskell, and Murray will put our young DE's to the test. It's easy for a new highly athletic guy to come in and pass rush a pocket QB but it's harder to know how to play contain. Sam and Mingo had success against those guys because they knew when to get after it and when to drop back.

His high school coach said he was better than Von Miller at the same point in their careers, so the sky is the limit for this kid

Would be nice watching that unfold.

Stephen Rivers' dad/coach said he was further along during his senior year in high school than his older brother Phil. I'm not going to put too much stock into what his coach said but that comparison does sound pleasing to my ear.

Does not compute. He could probably drop you with one punch.
He's a young man, not a "kid".

More to learn and react in the secondary. DL that is physically ready can be more effective sooner.

Which is why I stated, "physically ready".

More to playing DT than physicality. It's a tough position to pick up.

They raved about him last year...can't wait to see him play.

I wouldn't be surprised if Herron and Hunter are the starting ends by the end of the season.
Or at least the two playing the most.

I wouldn't discount Rasco. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out but my guess is that when the defense takes the field against TCU Hunter and Rasco will be the starters at DE.

Wow. I know that's what you hope but do really think they will jump redshirt juniors

Rasco will be a beast this year, and the most productive of the DE's

One of my buddys is an athletic trainer. Hunter is a beast.

The newest guys are always the best ones. I'm surprised there isn't a thread about Jennings/Rettig jumping Mettenberger.
