I think it was to cause confusion and fear. Thinking they will be back to attack a weaker group.

Another thing is it will exhaust supplies and effectively cut them off from the outside world limiting their ability to make runs for supplies.

He def went to take a few of them out, but I don't think his purpose was to not stop until they were all dead. He wanted to exert his authority and basically tell them to not frick with him bc he'll take them out.

This is me absolutely just throwing this out there, but I think it being in black and white could add to the whole apocalypse feel. Its as if the world is now in black and white in the ZA due to the obvious barren times. No life = no color.

He wanted to attack the prison and make it unlivable for them. The trucks main purpose was to tear down the wall, I think the zombies were more of a distraction so the driver could get away.
