Early, not the key word. Ford was our #3 guy this past year. He declared.
Ford would be at best the #3 option at RB this year, behind hill and blue.
If KH comes back next year after Blue and likely Hill go, he'll likely be #1 unless Fournette takes it from him.
Big difference.

Leonard Fournette

True. But, each case is different. Chris Faulk declared after sitting out the majority of the year (when coming back would have drastically improved his stock); also, who's to discount Hilliard from being able to respond to last year's performance with one like his freshman season's?

Sure hope he does. He got buried this year

We are 3 deep not counting Magee next year. We're fine at RB

Macgee isn't going to stay as the 8th string lot receiver while we have 2true freshmen Rbs

We're fine for '13 (Hill, Hilliard, Magee, Blue?). But if Hill (likely) and Hilliard (maybe) leave early, then that leaves us in '14 with Magee and TBD.
If LF signs, who else would we sign in addition to him and anyone think his presence might dissuade another top-shelf RB from coming?

Leonard Fournette is ours, and we'll sign 2 more probably with him. I am still a little worried how young we could be at RB though in 2014.
AJ will help erase that concern real quick. He gonna be a real threat out of the backfield.

Coming in 2015, Nick Broussette.

FWIW, I believe Ford projects better for NFL than Hilliard. Ford has the speed the NFL is looking for in a RB.

So with 2014 depth preview, we should have gone after 1 running back. Bama took 4 four star. None from in state. Florida, Arkansas and NC. Not sure where the fourth is from. All that tells me is that there were top tier RB's to be had and we chose not to recruit any of them and just because we get LF next year doesn't mean he wouldn't have come if you pick up a quality back this year. If that was the case 4 top tier backs wouldn't have signed with Alabama in one recruiting class just as in past years with LSU.

What about Jonathan Juneau and Charles Mitchell? Are these guys expected to contribute substantially? Never hear anything about either.

A sophomore running back with almost no experience isn't that much better than a Freshmen. It's all in their physical ability.

Ok so who do you want to replace? Some may say we are putting all our eggs in fournette, I don't see it that way. Rb was basically last on the needs list. Coaches didn't see anyone worth taking over the guys we have.
We don't have any spots left so you'd have to give one of the signees the boot. Which one?

Or he gets hurt and his playing career is over. That's why h left. He knows rt now he has a shot. Come next off-season he may not.

As long as I have followed LSU, rbs were better earlier in career minus Ridley and hester. They usually get hurt and are never the same before their Jr and Sr year. Honestly lsu was a rb killer because we've always ran the ball so much. Wilson knows what he's doing with these guys.
Even a guy like addai wasn't all world here because he was constantly hurt. Never broke 1k yds.

If we get Fournette this will all go away. If we don't then it will sting. We will still end up with somebody good but LF is a clone of Jeremy Hill. Fournette is on another level from almost any other running back.

Well would you rather have a small linebacker like Duke Riley or go hard and sign Alex Smith who went all the way from South Florida to Arkansas. Watch Alex Smith's video. He is a special back.

Brewhan you think Hill declares after this yr? Would be kinda surprised...he is good enough no doubt about it...got Michael Turner type talent, how old is he?
