Peyton didnt come because Booty was the same age. It would be impossible to get the top 2 QBs in the nation to commit the same year.

The Mannings detest LSU. Archie's least favorite team in any sport on any level. Archie and Eli were in my fraternity at Ole Miss and I've met and heard Archie talk about LSU a couple times at our charity events (football games). No way his children would ever be Tigers.

Seriously doubt it given that their Dad played for Ole Miss back when the rivalry meant a whole lot more than it does now.
plus the "Archie Who at LSU" song coming from one of the top all-time LSU wins.

I could of sworn that I heard Ed Reed was a no star who's only offer was Tulane until Butch Jones scooped him

Do you even know who Ed Reed and Butch Jones are?

not sure if Peyton or Eli would've considered LSU
Peyton went to Tennessee instead of Ole Miss because the Vols were a top team during that time. I have no doubts that he would've chose to stay home in LA if LSU then would have been LSU now.

IIRC, Reed was a 4* at Destrehan. We lost those N.O. Kids OOS then. The previously mentioned names as well as others. Shyrone Carey originally committed to Tenn. Talman Gardner to FSU. Also lost the likes if Cole Pittman, Terrell Bierra, Anthony Thomas, etc. Recruiting was good, not great.

juco over at jones in mississippi in 99
florida state in 2000 and 01
if you remember right, LSU was horrible in 98 and 99
javon was always going to FSU, but the suckage that was LSU at that time did not help

Just go to Jones' wiki page man - he initially went to SELA on a track scholarship. He wasn't considered a top football prospect at all.

Jacoby was a product of katrina, his highschool no longer exists.

Ike Taylor went there also and he was under the radar coming out. I'm sure there's been others

Another major factor was Curtis Johnson was on the Miami staff when Reed went there... I'm pretty sure he was the DB coach, but not 100% sure...
