I couldn't be happier with the way things turned out.

There's a good chance they go 0-18 in conference

I would say it's all but a lock at this point. The only winnable game I see is possibly Texas.

On the road, I don't think so. haha.
Classic. I thank TCU everyday for taking TJ.

that's why I say "possibly" I wonder what the TCU boards are saying. I can remember lots of "He needs 2-3 years before we can judge him" threads around here. Bet those guys feel like fools now

Thanks for giving him a raise TCU!

They play Texas at home later in year, also get WVU at home. Only winnable games I see. Maybe Texas Tech, but that's on the road...and it was the only competitive game they played this year in the Big XII (lost by 9). TCU has lost every other Big XII game by double digits.
Blows my mind Karviar Shepherd is going there, has he signed there?

I'll admit it, I feel like a fool. I'm an eternal optimist so I gave Trent to much benefit of the doubt. I definitely signed a sigh of relief when TCU hired him away

+1
I really liked him as a person (and still do), but he just wasn't a good fit

It's all good now, bro. It didn't help that he made that tourney run with Brady's players. I'm sure that sparked a TON of unearned optimism. I was geeked up after that as well until after the next season
A remarkably similar year to what he's having at TCU right now

While I definitely think it was time for a change at LSU, I'm not going to completly bash TJ for his performance at TCU this year. He didn't exactly inherit a loaded team. His coaching philosophy is tough defense and rebounding, so you're going to see alot of 50-60 pt games. Not my favorite style of basketball to watch, but that style had had some success in recent years (see Wisconsin, Mich. St. or UCLA's 3 straight Final Fours) People are quick to forget that TJ took a talented LSU team in 08-09 and got them to play well enough on defense to win the SEC. It was just his lackluster recruiting that sealed his fate here.
I think he'll ultimately have TCU competitive in the Big 12 in the next few years, but given the choice, JJ's style is more fun to watch and he's got the excitement level re: LSU basketball is slowly starting to go up.

why would anyone feel like a fool for being a reasonable person?
he deserved a couple of yrs to show what he could do. it wasn't good enough so now he's gone.

It will go up a lot quicker than you might think. Next year, watch out. This is going to be fun...

I wanted to give him time too, after that first season just felt that he could....but he couldn't

They are 0-7 in conference play and have lost each game by double digits. They only scored 31 points against a horrendous Northwestern team and just 44 points against Prairie View A&M. TJ is running that ship into the ground.
