Why are there barely any from the southeastern part of the US?

Jimmy Dykes lives in Fayetteville (not deep south but it's a start)

and holy chit

just found out the bus kid kidnapper from bama is named Jimmy Dykes too

A good number of ESPN personalities are graduates of Syracuse or Northwestern who have the best communications/journalism schools in the country and a majority of their graduates are from the northeast and rust belt states. That's probably the main why there aren't as many ESPN personalities from the south.
