re: Chris Bosh says he's a lock for the Hall Of Fame

What about the years the coaches voted him in?
That's a joke too. We saw that this year when the coaches backed Avery Johnson and chose to punish BK's players.
Same with Josh Smith. He's been a douche lately, so coaches didn't reward him

quote:Johnson doesn't belong in a NBA hall of fame but there isn't one. IMO he belongs in a basketball hall of fame.
And he shouldn't be. He got injured early in his career and was never the same. You're comparing a 2 time all-star with an 8-time all-star with 5-6+ years left to play.

I was trying to think of maybe a comparible player for averages.
LaMarcus Aldridge??
PPG - 18.2
RPG - 7.7
APG - 1.8
SPG - 0.8
BPG - 1.0
FG% - 0.492
3P% - 0.198
FT% - 0.782
His 1st two seasons bring him down a bit.
Bosh has got a better resume than I thought. Bosh's last 5 years in Toronto were pretty nice.

I just thought who is a player that was probably around Chris Bosh's level and Larry Johnson came to mind...

Most others disagree. He had a very nice college career, but that alone generally isn't good enough. Of the things that get you into the basketball HOF, Bosh has them and LJ doesn't.
Hence why BR HOF predictor has Bosh at 61st all-time with a 90% chance at getting in, but Larry Johnson at 205 with a 5% chance.
But that's all besides the point, because the two aren't even comparable since their cases are different. Why would Johnson's exclusion preclude Bosh's?

And you may be right, but their cases for HOF status are not exactly similar.

I think he has been listening to that will.i.am song so much that he believes it.

He's the NBA's first gay dinosaur. Of course he'll be a HOFer

Basketball-reference.com has his HOF probability right now listed at over 89%, which is 11th among active players.
And 32% higher than Steve f'ing Nash.

This is much worse:

Chris Tomasson ?@christomasson
Mario Chalmers of #Heat figures he's about the fifth- or sixth-best point guard in the entire NBA.

"Hell, yeah, of course. I've been a Hall of Famer like four years ago," the Miami Heat center told FOX Sports Florida after Friday's 110-88 win over Detroit. "And I say that very serious, tho. I've talked about it before with my friends."

Bosh's career numbers:
PPG: 19.7
RPG: 9.0
APG: 2.1
SPG: 0.8
BPG: 1.1
FG%: .494
3P%: .287
FT%: .800
All-Star Appearances: 8
NBA Titles: 1
Are there any players who have been to 8 or more all-star games, won a title and NOT made the HOF? I highly doubt it.

Why? Rio is the best. His confidence level is through the roof, and that's what you need to play on the same floor as Wade, James and Bosh. Do we really want players to think they are average? Would he have had the confidence to score 25 vs OKC in Game 4 if he really understood his level of play? It's not like he's Nate Robinson bad.
But back on Bosh...
How could anyone not love that guy?

He is a lock. He's still fairly young, will probably win another ship, oh yea and the basketball hall of fame is a joke.
