Imagine that conversation:
Joe Carroll: ok...which of you random cult members that I haven't talked to since recruitment would like a part on my book?
Mousy brown haired chick: me!
Joe Carroll: ok here's the plan, act like you're going to turn yourself in, as soon as they let their guard down stab the black guy in the eye. They will kill you.
Mousy brown haired girl: wtf!?
Joe Carroll: You need to calm down. it will be soooo worth it.
FIFY
Also it looks like next week they all leave the house and cause mayhem. If somehow the FBI doesnt know who each and every one of these people are at this point after having all the info from the training facility and with them being away from their jobs and families for what I would guess would be weeks now...........well I guess it would fall in line with the rest of the writing of the show.

Yeah, and next week's blood bath in the gym looks like its business as usual for the FBI: Do NOT restrain violent suspects under any conditions.
Looks like they just gathered them all together and didn't handcuff, nor check them for weapons.
I am interested like passing a train wreck to see how this brilliance unfolds.
And also, as far as the cult members dying for Joe... at least in Jonestown with Reverend Jim, there was some sort of promise of eternal salvation.
These idiots are just,
Joe: "Die for me, pointlessly."
Cult lemming: "Ok."
