Gram Parsons would have to be the all timer.

Steve Earle lived in Sulphur, LA (my hometown) for a little while when he was a kid. Across the river in Lake Charles, I guess we could claim Lucinda Williams as well.

Not a band, but James brown lived 15 minutes from me and I have been to and inside his house. I also met him.
Also, 2 of 3 members of Lady Antebellum (sp?)from Augusta Ga. 20 minutes from me.

My hometowns are West Monroe and Huntsville, AL.
I don't know anyone from Huntsville, I guess we could claim Bo Bice. I know there is a famous old country singer from West Monroe, Webb Pierce. As you all know, Tim McGraw is from Start which is 20 minutes away from West Monroe. but he is a better actor than singer.
