Why hasn't Brian VanGorder gotten a job?

Last year was far from a representation of his abilities...his resume speaks for itself
I'd have to guess he's trying to find a job for mitigation purposes

He sucked at Atlanta before he sucked at Auburn. He hasn't been worth a frick since his days at Georgia.

What sparkling résumé are you referring to?

Because he hasn't been worth a shite as a coach for nearly a decade.

People always want to say that Richt benefited from facing a weak slate of coaches early in his career compared to now. (i.e. Shula, Fulmer, Zook, Gailey, Holtz).
Looking back, the real winner was probably BVG. Since that '01-'04 run at UGA, he has been rather pedestrian.
Still, though, I think it's fair to say the AU debacle last year really cost him. He hopped on a sinking ship without even knowing. Hell, I thought AU had some decent DL and LB talent this year and that he could have some success.
I really think his moderate initial success in ATL, then subsequent downfall hurt his confidence, which was then destroyed at AU.
Maybe he just needs a year off?

He's interviewed but being paid well enough to be picky right now.

When Grantham leaves, I've got no problem with him coming back to Georgia, but the stache has to go. That is not negotiable.

LOL at all the people in this thread using his 9 month or so stint at Auburn as a main reason to prove his "worth" or lack thereof.
ETA: And LOL at all the UGA people bitching about his lack of success.
And LOl at those who believe he's truly serious about getting a job at the moment. The dude is sitting in Auburn riding his bike down Samford Ave every morning collecting his pay check.
