re: Deadspin: Manti Te'o Dead Girlfriend Story a Hoax (now with drug dealers!)

The simple-ness would have been for Manti to come out and speak to the media without being lawyered up or with a team of advisers telling him what to say.
But in order to believe what Manti is saying, then you have to believe that an extremely elaborate ruse was created, using multiple people, traveling across the country, paying for food and lodging, all for hoaxing some player. In other words, there is a very rich, bored, psychopathic Samoan 22 yo, with amazing organizational skills, who found/convinced others to go along.
I was asked recently if I could meet anyone, who that be? Forget JFK, Washington, Lincoln, I wanna meet the dude who pulled this thing off...

well there are reports of the guy doing the same thing to other people as far back as 2008

There's some dude saying it happened to his cousin but it's kind of amazing ESPN couldn't find that cousin that it happened to.

Not only does it look shopped but at least one of the messages is over 140 characters. Twitter doesn't allow me to send a DM longer than 140.
That's what I'm saying. The one was about 246 characters, which is impossible

And that particular catfish didn't last nearly as long as the one with Te'o - if we are to believe he was indeed in touch with this Lennay for three years.

If so, then not only was a major talent, but he had to have one hella lawyer. Why, if this guy existed, would no one go after him, have some LEO investigation? Are people too stupid to pick up the phone and say that there is someone doing this in our community? Oh wait, never mind....

Yep, I missed your earlier post. That DM exchange is phony.
ESPN got duped again.

Apparently, if you use some Twitter apps you can send DMs longer than 140 characters.
"DM mechanism: Unlike what Twitter states, the DM mechanism is not limited to 140 characters. Whether it’s a bug or a feature, I don’t know. As far as I heard, using an external application can enable you to send much longer DMs, though most applications – and the web interface – limit you to 140 characters. This is easily demonstrated by a screenshot of a DM I received some time ago (which appears at the top of this post)."

Are you telling me that Tuiososopo ran a 3 year hoax on other people? No he didn't. You know why? Cause only the dumbest person in the history of the free world would have bought this hoax for 3 years.
Manti lied. He made up the entire girlfriend part of this entire story.

exactly
you answered your own question
of course people are this stupid. Of course people after being made a fool of wouldn't want to discuss it. Does anyone in here have dealings with people in real life??? Cause I do and man there are some real losers and nutcases walking the streets everyday

No one is dumb enough to get catfished for three years. I refuse to believe that.

the same hoax on someone else, then yes
where is the 3 years coming from? I understood it to be 4 months.

link?
I mean shite dude, feel free to believe what you want but for me to say 100% Te'o was involved from the start and led the way....I need more than just what you think

He met Lennay on Facebook back in 2009. They maintained a friendly relationship for three years.

JEREMY SCHAAP: In, in fact, there are all these people that have been similarly due processed, and you use the same identity, why didn't any of them contact you with all of the media about Lennay Kekua that was out there? Her name was in "Sports Illustrated", it was in ESPN, it was on CBS news?
MANTI TE'O: I don't know.
JEREMY SCHAAP: Is it possible they never saw it? Or did they just feel like I'm not getting into this?
MANTI TE'O: I have no idea. Some of them said that they didn't hear the story. And when they did hear the story, it was like oh, my gosh. That's exactly what happened to me.
This right here is some bullshite.
quote:
JEREMY SCHAAP: Seriously? I mean, you'd think that somebody would want to reach out if they saw that.
MANTI TE'O: You know, fortunately they're reaching out now.
Yes very very fortunate and convenient.

Uh, no, no one is that stupid, only Manti Teo. In order for him to be this stupid, then he would have to have someone show him how to put on/take off his uniform. But I'm sure there are reports that he kept it on on the plane until his uniform changer found him at the airport....

ok but not a "online relationship" where they spoke and shite???
Idk, just asking on that
I've chatted with many ppl online for years, without ever having met them....so technically they could be someone else
from my understanding and feel free to correct me....he has stated they were "dating" or whatever for 4 months...has that changed? Or is it knew of her facebook/chatted for three years and last 4 months "together"
it actually matters- IF this Ronaldo guy has this thing set up for years and has used "her" on others...well Te'o could have just been next

MANTI TE'O: I gave people, like I said, kind of non-punctual.
JEREMY SCHAAP: Nonspecific?
MANTI TE'O: Non-specific kind of stories.

No. That's how long they talked every night. They talked every night, for four months, for eight hours a night. According to Te'o in the original SI article, they had been "dating" since October 2011. He changed his story a little in the Schaap interview - which is some bullshite because he was coached for 48 hours from one of the best spin doctors in the business.

I give my wife non-punctual stories all the time. It takes awhile to come up with a reason why I was coming out of the strip club at 1 am....
