First time I'd watched Carolina this season.
Jordan Staal is a shell of what he was in Pitt, or Pitt just made him that good. Looks like the latter.
Another Pens steal getting Sutter for Staal it appears. I liked Jordan so I won't bash him too much, but -16 is the worst on the Canes team and he's just pretty much not existent on the ice.

Jordan's had a good year, he's just getting killed by terrible puck luck and some mediocre linemates. Eric's been terrific this year, but he gets to play with Semin. But here's the big difference between the Staals this year.
When Eric is on the ice, the Canes shoot 12.73% and the goalies have a save percentage of .904.
When Jordan is on the ice, the Canes shoot 6.32% and the goalies have a save percentage of .881.
Jordan's plus/minus is largely being driven by bad shooting, not bad play. He's been pretty good this year, but the Canes are in free fall right now and that defense still stinks. Especially with Ward out, and unable to paper over the holes.
