i was just saying as LSU fans we need to not throw stones and remember all the defending we did for our own recruiting numbers snafus
sometimes guys like brad wing qualify when we were told they would never pass the clearing house, taking porter's spot
sometimes guys like kiel pop up at the last minute, taking a spot from a pat miller
i'm sure there is some similar numbers issue, and LSU fans should be defending kiff just like they did with les

from what i understand, some kid currently at USC didnt graduate as planned so kiff had to take away this scholarship to make the numbers right.
not exactly LKs fault, esp since he warned all the other EEs this may happen.

He doesn't have to pay for anything. Just take the spring semester off and start school in the summer like most of the other 2013 recruiting class
And what happens in the June when USC tells him to wait again.
This attitude pisses me off. The schools need to be held accountable if a scholarship is offered and accepted. It's complete bullshite what Kiffin did.

would you rather kiffin had cut the senior who didn't graduate in the fall as expected and deny him the chance to graduate completely?

I think getting a phone call from the school was not the way to handle this situation

This shouldn't be a deal killer. Just pay for one semester or take some classes at a juco that would transfer over.

quick question: how do you feel about the patrick miller situation at LSU? elliot porter at LSU?
I didn't like it then and I don't like it now.
I know it wasn't Les' fault and this probably isn't Kiffen's fault. I think a solution to this would be to allow schools some flexibility when stuff like this happens, ie maybe grant a waiver and allow the extra scholly this year and take one away next year.

This kid should gut it out and just go to USC in the summer/fall. If he redshirts, Kiffin will prob be gone this time next year anyway. Much better choice than ending your football career aspirations by choosing to go Washington at least.

Its messed up, but then again, the kid could just wait it out if he wanted USC bad enough.
If he goes apeshit over this, he's gotta remember he's getting his college paid for. USC is a damn good school.

I think the article said Notre Dame was in the mix, which is far more legit for a D lineman who is top 10 at his position. I'm sure at least a dozen other AQ schools would take him.
The kid already put in the work to graduate early, presumably so he can participate this spring and compete for playing time this season. Why wait if be doesn't have to?

You live in California. USC is one of the most expensive universities in the nation and you think a football scholarship player can afford the tuition? Think again.

Yup, they did this to make room for LM3 after he committed at the UA game.
Super scummy.

He only has to wait 5 months if he still wants to go to USC for free. Not exactly the end of the world.
I could certainly understand being upset and wanting to go somewhere else though.
