Should we agree before hand which trilogies should be counted as single entries and which should be multiple? I think Lord of the Rings, Toy Story, Dark Knight, Bourne, and Dollars trilogy should count since they're very consistently good. The other great trilogies like Godfather and Star Wars have a very clear vastly inferior film mixed in it. Then there are films like The Matrix where there's no way in hell it's sequels should even be considered for the list.
I say vote what ever you feel as best and let fraux decide what to do. Only issue is if you decide to do LOTR trilogy and someone puts it as 1 12 and 34 how do you give points to all of the LOTR trilogy in that case.

I always try to set rules and rules are always broken.

Which is why I think we should come to a consensus on which trilogies should qualify. I'd be ok with letting Star Wars and Godfather part of that, but no way should every trilogy qualify.

Yeah but not everyone would check this list. It always ends up the same, no matter what. Make a list like this, not everyone one follows. Say everything is separate, someone doesn't follow. Say all series count as one, not everyone follows.
I'll say this: FOr definitional purposes, this is MOVIES We Agree Don't Suck, not trilogies.
So all are separate.

Sci Fi Comedy Voting
I'm a little blown away on how different my Sci Fi list would be different from then to now. I also stated "sci Fi is not my genre". Wow. Apparently I hadn't even seen my all time favorite sci Fi, Blade Runner.
Edit: dear god I'm embarrassed just reading that thread. I asked were Pans Labyrinth and LOTR sci Fi?
Edit2: I actually like my 00's list pretty good still.
I actually remember Lsut81 making fun of my comedy list
Though I still do believe the 90's and 00's were the two best decades as far as comedies go.

About a month ago I'm pretty sure I stumbled upon the admin page for the m/tv board I googled so much. The layout was different from the normal board set up. It had the 100mwads and a few other locked threads on the page.

I think Fraux should make a decision himself on the trilogy and ask the people who are on this board alot to enforce it asking people to change their list if they break the rule.

Vito says No.
If I give there, then LOTR is one, Star Wars is one. Star Trek is One. Roger Moore James Bonds are One. Daniel Craig James Bonds are one. And on and on and on.
I also would request that people not stick to ANY rules, one movie per director, etc.
We want the closest thing to Best Movies List possible. If that means John Carpenter has slots 1-8 on your list, as he should, well so be it.
The man directed They Live which is better than the Godfather.
I'm all out of Bubble Gum.

I can be argued otherwise, I just don't see another way.
What's happened before is one person Puts Matrix somewhere. Then One person puts Matrix 1 and 2 somewhere. Then one person Puts Matrix 1 and 3 somewhere.
Then one person puts Matrix 1 and 2 in one spot, and Matrix 3 in another spot. Then one person person Puts Matrix 1, 2, 3, AND Baby's Day Out, considering them all sequels since, apparently, The Baby from Baby's Day out is a newborn Neo.
And so forth. That's going to happen regardless of what I do though.
(And go watch baby's day out, there are a ton of coincidences).

I actually agree with you. The only one's I could really consider 1 are the GF and LOTR. Like I said, I just wanted to count GF I and II in one spot to have another movie on there

What I may do is allow anything goes, BUT if you list ANY series as one, then the first movie goes in the first slot, and the other movies go sequentially at the end of your list and bump off any other films.
Maybe having a penalty, without asking for multiple posts and redos (which never happen with anyone but the most passioned) is a better way to do it.

Yeah, what ever is easist for you of course is the best.
One way to look at it might be movies that continue the same story arc (LOTR) vs the continuing adventrues of ... (James Bond/ Indiana Jones movies)?

But people ALWAYS get these rules messed up, that's what I'm trying to avoid.
The ONLY film that this really works for is probably Kill Bill 1 and 2. And maybe LOTR.
Films specifically shot as 1 movie.

True enough, of course there will be people that list 1 movie and when the final list comes out, someone will attack you for your bad list

Forgot about Kill Bill, yes those 2 are really the only ones shot like one movie.

Don't start messing with your list....or Do.
I did, this is going to take me a long time.

I'm starting from scratch. I will be similar to my past list, but some differences, new enteries etc. It will take some time.
