CSN Philly reports the Eagles interviewed ex-Ravens head coach Brian Billick for their head-coaching vacancy last Monday.
The timing of the report is interesting, as Billick is currently announcing Sunday's NFC Divisional round game on FOX. The Super Bowl XXXV winner has drawn just cursory interest around the league since being let go by the Ravens after the 2007 season. Although Billick's background is on offensive side of the ball, his Baltimore defenses often carried the weight of the offense on its back. CSN Philly's Reuben Frank is told Billick is "considered among the leading candidates" for the position.

He's a terrible color guy, and I'm a Cowboys fan...so I'd love the hire.

It's pretty useless to hire Billick without a franchise QB already in place. Man can't evaluate QB play to save his life. He would do wonders in a place like Detroit or Carolina though that has a franchise QB in place but just needs a coach who can instill a winning culture in their organizations.

If the Eagles were listening to him do color commentary today, they probably crossed him off the list.

Billick did exlaim that seattle was clearly the team to beat now just seconds after the falcons winning fg went through the uprights.

after watching that "offense guru" in baltimore, i have zero confidence in his ability to produce an offense in the top half of the NFL. if i were him, i would get an OC job if i really wanted back in the game. hes not a very good color guy either.

As Seatlle had 3rd and 5 at atlanta 20 yd line with about 1:30 to go and down 7, Billick actually said if Seattle doesnt get it here on 3rs down, do they kick the field goal and go onside kick. I said out loud, WTF. Hire away Philly.
