I heard the defining reason from CJ Mosley last night in his post-game interview. He said Saban makes them be the best every day, every practice, every week, every game, etc. No slacking, ever. Look at the amount of penalties, suspensions, etc. we always have.

miles is not responsible for anything. especially not the terrible offensive ranking we have had since 2009 and pla ycalling since 2010.
Gotta think Miles believes defenses win championships.

Not exactly sure why but this season he took it to an extreme by not taking more chances on offense. Seem like every time he had a choice in a crucial offensive series he elected to do what adefensive minded coach would do?

I think it's more of a lack of a deep threat combined with poor protection that has made Mett look bad. Some of his throws were just beyond the WRs or over them indicating either he overthrew his WR, he was under pressure and timing was off, or the WR can't get there on deep patterns. Mett will be better next year.

I've never been one to jump on Saban's bandwagon....but what I saw last night has changed my opinion.

The only reason that team is as successful as it is...is because of that man. Without him...they are just another LSU. All the talent in the world but an absolute cluster frick

I can't disagree with that statement, but with McCarron's accuracy and a deep threat, we still would have won the NC last night.

hopefully Mett improves as much from year one to year two as AJ did.

Protection has zero to do with the number of deep overthrows of receivers with a 2 yard cushion we had this season. Many of them on first down play action.

We're not talking about a small sample here. We're talking serious consistent lack of accuracy with protection.

Do me a favor and try to think about a touch pass Mett has thrown this season. How many can you remember?

Everything is zip, on a line. All the batted balls, etc. No RB screens like we see every other team do on Saturdays and Sundays. The one we use, he has to throw sidearm.

There's a reason for that.

Spencer ware wheel route vs Miss st, Kadron Boone Diving catch vs A&M off the top of my head. I know I'm missing some.

He REALLY started clicking in the back half of the season...people just can't think beyond a loss

That Kadron Boone pass was one of the prettiest I've seen since Russel was here

I have one reason for you grandpa:

1. They are making an historic run in college football. What they are doing is incredible and has never been done before and is highly unlikely to ever happen again.

Go back and re watch the Bama game and the South Carolina game. Mett was playing lights out. He was accurate on all throws. Why? Because he was actually allowed time to throw the ball which was surprising against the two best pass rush teams on the schedule, but I think they tried to only bring 4 rushers because they lacked respect fot LSU's offense. When Bama brought pressure he was off.

Mett also is consistently terrible on the road. He really only played well at home. On the road his timing looked bad, and I think it was crowd noise that effected his ability to adjust protections at the line. I think Mett is a good QB, but just needs to work on mobility and his ability to check down quickly under pressure. If the Oline improves, so will Mett's accuracy on hooks and deep routes. Let's hope he makes a lot of progress next year... paging Coach Kragthorpe.

I agree with pretty much everything you said except this. This is an inaccurate statement.

He did make some nice throws under pressure in that game. You are right.

I don't think that was our best game. A game is 4 quarters. We played a great second half until 1:32 left. Not our best game !

and offense wins games.

it is either talent or coaching.

and we have a so called great recruiter in les miles so that pretty much narrows it down.

You are right though, a lot of the inaccurate throws are due to the OL. I think the OL is going to improve drastically between now and next season and should really be a strong point. I also think Mett will develop more chemistry with the WRs and next year will look better than he did early this season.

I also believe in Santa, the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy.

Under Miles, there will always be a critical area thay is not strong and a brain fart that bites us in the arse at the worse possible time. In 2011, it was the "Man of Character" going for seconds in his personal mishandling of Lee and his decision to fulfill every media request leading up to the title game when he should have been watching film and preparing to Bama.
