we can't drop stud and get a new OC and a new OL coach... we'd have to drop two coaches for that.
Correct.
We can only have 9 assistants.

Current Staff:
Defensive Coordinator/LB Coach - John Chavis
DL Coach - Brick Haley
DB Coach - Corey Raymond
Special Teams Coordinator - Thomas McGaughey
Offensive Coordinator/OL Coach - Greg Studrawa
QB Coach _ Steve Kragthorpe
RB/Recruiting Coordinator - Frank Wilson
TE Coach - Steve Ensminger
WR Coach - Adam Henry
We aren't losing any defensive coaches or special teams coach. We aren't ditching Frank Wilson or Adam Henry. It is expected we ditch Studrawa and get Cam Cameron (who is a QB coach). So, either Les Miles personally handles the Offensive Line, or we lose another coach.
I think that either Steve Ensminger or Steve Kragthorpe get an administrative position and we demote Stud, or hire a new OL coach. If Ensminger is no longer TE coach, Adam Henry becomes WR/TE coach. If Kragthorpe is no longer QB coach, Cameron takes over coaching the QBs.
I just don't see us keeping two QB gurus (Cameron and Kragthorpe) and Miles having to coach the OL by himself.

Seems like this makes way more sense. IIRC, Henry was a TE coach in the NFL anyway. And with DeSean Smith and Jacory Washington coming in as more finesse/hybrid TE's anyway, seems like having the same guy over both would not only be efficient, but make a lot of sense on the field. So you'd go:
OC - Cam
QB - Krag
RB - Wilson
WR/TE - Henry
OL - Stud or new hire
DC/LB - Chavis
DL - Brick
DB - Raymond
ST - McGaughey
That gets us to nine, with Miles only having to put one guy out to pasture, assuming Stud stays as OL coach. Is this the kind of setup you "think" your "brain" is telling you, Random?

dropping Ensminger and Stud would blow the rant's collective minds.
