Edit (i dont think Saban leaves bama at all. This is what was being broadcast on espn austin with sean adams and erin hogan. Ttese are there points not mine. What do people think about these points. The radio host were basically starting full on rumors on air that if Saban left Bama it would be to Texas)

I was listening to Espn Austin yesterday and they were making the case that Saban is turning down pro jobs because he is either staying at Bama or may be coming to Texas. By no means did they think it was a sure thing but they felt their were two many connections to not consider Saban may be coming to Texas when he leaves Bama.

Connection #1 - Saban won't even speak to nfl teams meaning he's happy at Bama or has something else lined up like Texas

Connection #2- Mack has lost favor with big boosters and at most has next year only if things don't get better.

Connection#3- Kirby Smart was approached by all the jobs open in the SEC and refused to talk leading one to believe he knew Bama would be open soon and he would be the choice to fill it.

Connection #4- Larry Porter was just hired by UT when he really does not have much connection to Mack. (Point is now invalid that Sean Adams was making because it has been pointed out that porter coached under miles not Saban)

Connection #5- Major Applewhite is o cord now who was of course also o cord under Saban at Bama.

Connection #6- Stacy Searles is o line coach which he was with Saban at LSU.

Connection #7- Texas would pay him whatever the hell he wants and be happy to do it.

Connection #8 it should be easier to win in Austin then any where else. Fertile recruiting ground, better place to live, better quality of life, easier conference where you only have to win a few games to be conference champ. Plus the ego boosting fame if the longhorn network gets picked up nationally.

Now don't get me wrong. I think Saban stays longer at Bama and maybe moves on in a few years but there is a lot that might in the future connect him to the Texas. I personally think if Saban indicated he wanted the job this year or next Mack is out and in rides Saban.

He interviewed with AU. He refused to talk to Kentucky and Tennessee.

Never coached under Saban.

Connection #5- Major Applewhite

Was told by Saban to go find another job, which is why he went from OC at Bama to RB coach at Texas without having been "fired" first.

As would Bama. Seriously don't get this "point" from people. Texas isn't going to pay him $12M per year. the most any college team (that is a public university) would offer is $8M. Bama would match that within about 4 seconds.

Yeah. he does seem to be having trouble winning in Tuscaloosa.

I'm not even going to address this.

Agree, but that doesn't have anything to do with Saban.

Or he is like the Chief and knows he is a DC through and through. Also could be that he wants to get some experience as an HC elsewhere like Malzahn did.

( posters have pointed out Porter did not work under Saban but I really don't remember)

Already addressed.

Saban fired his arse.

Where is the Oline coach from Mich St coaching now? Maybe he wants to go there?

Saban is paid a shite-ton and will probably get a bump if he wins on Monday. UT has a bunch of money, sure, but him leaving for more money is low on the totem pole of concern.

He seems to be doing okay at UA. Also, Austin > Tuscaloosa in a social sense. However, sometimes people are happy in a smaller setting. You know, folks who work a bunch and then relax at a lake house.

Hey mate, this Saban character seems to be going to a lot of zip codes. Me and the fellas feel he'll be doing whatever the frick he feels like and makes no sense to put groundless chitter chatter on the board. Now be a good lil' lad and get your Cajun arse outta here before me and me mates have a good old dust up in here wit you.
